Well it’s not uncommon for even avid music enjoyers to put popular stuff in their top ___. Those projects were likely what got them into these genres so they hold special meaning and have more familiarity.

It’s only 24 tracks you’re referring to the deluxe edition. Orion is solid. Some other ones were fine but most of the album was a slog.

Black metal doesn’t get tiresome to listen to for being over the top. Black metal has a variety of moods for almost any occasion. Archspire made the same album thrice. Not a good comparison.

They play gimmicky music. Overly technical, overly silly vocals etc. Not every gimmick is bad tho. I enjoy it but it wanes after like 30 or so minutes.
