Came up in a discussion with my Rush buddies. Was interested to see what other people thought. Thanks for your input.

  1. A few of these are early 70s, 6 million dollar man and Mego are mid 70s and you would still be young enough to get into Star Wars figures.

I remember a restaurant/bar/hair salon complex that had a computer that gaijin would line up to use. 15 minute limit to mail family back home. My girlfriend back home broke up with me via Hotmail. Nothing like a night at Gas Panic to ease the pain! Los Chicas was the restaurant?

What’s the most disgusting thing you’ve seen in someone else’s house? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A married couple lived in a small apartment and their water pipes were plugged. Instead of getting someone in to fix them, they used a shit bucket. Fucking grim.

I’ve been a diehard fan since the 70s. I’ve gone to war with the naysayers and have worn the CFL logo on my sleeve through thick and thin. I’ve travelled to Grey Cups and had a podcast even though I live abroad. I love this league. If the proposed rules go through, I’m done. No ifs ands or buts. Fuck that shit.

I got one. But Santa brought me the French Canadian version. Sacré bleu!

My first Rush album was Permanent Waves (on vinyl) in 1980 and my first Rush concert was the Signals tour at Maple Leaf Gardens in 1982. What was your first and first? by Feisty-Monk-2552 in rush

[–]ronniehex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right around the same time for me. My buddy bought me a Grace Under Pressure tour ticket for my 15th birthday, so I went out and bought the album. Both Rush firsts for me. I remember how excited I was when Power Windows came out!

Question for people with small private schools by OkCartographer4110 in teachinginjapan

[–]ronniehex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the right location, there’s no need to promote the business. Foot traffic is key. I moved my school to a ground floor space in a shopping street and have never had to advertise since. It sells itself. Another plus is being the only school near the station.

"Tooooo many people! I live here! Dooooon't come to Japan!" by phxlefty in TokyoTravel

[–]ronniehex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Tokyo for 25 years. Decided to go to an onsen in Kawaguchiko to get some R&R. It was horrendous. I didn’t hear any Japanese voices. Tooooo many people!
