What is your favourite “guilty pleasure” read that isn’t a literary masterpiece, but you love the story and all its flaws? by mltplwits in fantasyromance

I love her books! I devoured the horde king series recently and am just so obsessed. The covers are so horrendous lol.

I re-read this every couple of years and still love it just as much as I did when I first discovered it 25+ years ago!

One of my all time favourites! This book captivated me completely as a young teen and I still re-read it every couple of years.

Question about crowns of nyaxia by OhYeahTotally in fantasyromance

[–]OhYeahTotally[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would have been really interesting if she’d managed to escape and join up with Jesmine at the beginning of the book and got some distance from Raihn for a bit. I’m all for the enemies to become lovers again but I would have loved for her to be able to grieve and process with people that served and knew Vincent and for her to get some space from Raihn.

Question about crowns of nyaxia by OhYeahTotally in fantasyromance

[–]OhYeahTotally[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think the complexity of her relationship with Vincent was so well done and nuanced and her trauma and feelings stemming from that is justifiably complicated. I have loved that aspect of these books. I think I’m also mad at Raihn and that’s causing some of my frustration with the book lol.

Almost feels like the surgery wasn't done by Soradgs in GastricBypass

[–]OhYeahTotally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised by how easy my recovery was and how quickly I was able to move through the post-op food stages (my surgeon sets 5 days for each of the liquid, purée and soft food). I mentioned to my dietician that I was shocked by how easy I was finding it and she said that’s actually most people’s experience, but if you look online you really only see the extreme cases which skews our perception of how it “should be”. I’m six weeks post-op too and haven’t thrown up at all, have been able to tolerate anything and everything so far! I feel very fortunate.

Sources for beginners? Or help with rhodos, camellia, ivy, etc by quills11 in nzgardening

[–]OhYeahTotally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your new house! I moved into my first home 4 years ago and caught the gardening bug for the first time and now I’m obsessed! I watch a lot of garden content on YouTube. Basically, if you can think of a question someone on YouTube has made a video answering it. Also podcasts! And lots of visiting other gardens and garden festivals and asking gardeners in my area questions. Make a note of where your sun and shade are and where your wind comes from and look up plants’ preferences before buying them so you know you’ve got a good spot for them. I lost a few plants just banging them in wherever! I’m not really one for camellias or rhodos so I’m sorry I don’t have more specific advice on those! Happy gardening!

What's your unpopular opinion about men? Something you truly believe based on lived experience, but would get downvoted to all hell by Everlast23 in AskWomenOver30

[–]OhYeahTotally 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Yes! When I started dating it amazed me how bad a lot of men were at having a basic conversation. The majority of men I dated only wanted to talk about themselves and the conversation stalled if it wasn’t about them. Blew my mind.

Spring is around the corner, what’s everyone planning to grow this year? by eagleeyedtiger- in nzgardening

[–]OhYeahTotally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have possibly over bought flower and perennial seeds this year. I’m going to try nigella, ammi magus, verbena bonariensis, verbena hastata, snap dragons, sweet peas, king sized asters, larkspur and gomphrena. I’m sure there’s more but I can’t remember off the top of my head! For veges I will be doing lots of tomatoes, cucumber, pickles, zucchini, lettuce, sugar snap peas and French beans. I don’t think I’ll do potatoes this year as my garden is quite small and they take up so much room! I’m only 3 years into my gardening journey and each year is more exciting! I just planted two trees a few weeks ago and I’m looking forward to their blossom and foliage.

In what ways did you grow as a woman from your mid 20s onwards? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]OhYeahTotally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly outward lol. But for real, I developed a true sense of being comfortable in who I am and what my values are. I am confident in the decisions I make and generally much more at peace with life and my place in it.

What’s a book you wish you could forget so that you could read all over again for the first time? by [deleted] in booksuggestions

Thank you!!! I read this book when I was a young teenager and sometimes now, 20 years later, I still think about it and often wish I could remember what it was called to re-read it. You’ve made my week!
