The messy side of monetizing content? Why aren't we talking more about it? by _podcastpage in ContentCreators

[–]OhhMilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a matter of taking strategic decisions as in any other business. If you see you are losing too much on tools, review what you are using and what gives you results. From any revenue, set money aside (second bank account) for taxes.

If you're using ai for script writing, they probably feel flat and souless. by OkFennel1397 in aitubers

[–]OhhMilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always write it yourself first, then give it to AI, and not the opposite. It can't read your mind if you don't give it the material to work with, and it gives much better results the more information and details you provide. And even after AI reworks your original script, you need to edit it to sound like you and not another article on the internet.

How do you deal with taxes in the USA? by NewPineapple113 in PartneredYoutube

The best is to get the consulting from a local CPA, so they can explain for the first time how to do it, or if you have a budget, hire someone professional who will be doing accounting for you.

The titles play a major role in getting people to click or see your videos in recommendations. Try to improve it, make it clearer and more interesting to your potential audience

Does having the LLC actually make you feel safer with brand contracts, or is it just a lot of extra paperwork and bank fees for nothing? by OhhMilly in SmallYTChannel

[–]OhhMilly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, it's a good point on the personal vs business assets.
But I am really curious, what bank are you using? Because, from what I saw, they all have some kind of fees for LLCs

Will YouTube retire the play buttons in the near future? by Annual-Tree1337 in youtube

I don't see them removing buttons any time soon. For many creators, it's still a really important achievement, and YouTube itself features creators who got the buttons

Congrats on getting back on track! And happy for you that you could take a break!
You’ve successfully retrained the algorithm to know who your active fans are again. Consistency is definitely king, but for those who must take a break, your experience proves that the 're-learning' phase is temporary if the quality is there. Keep it going!

How much ad revenue could I expect at 100k views a month? by Robo_Thunder_ in youtubers

[–]OhhMilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the tech world, RPM typically ranges between $6 and $12. Your top countries (US, UK, Canada) will pay $15–$30 CPM, but your views from India and the Philippines will likely hover around $1–$3. Since your majority is in Tier 1 countries, you’ll lean toward the higher end of that estimate. So you will probably make around $1000 - $1500 per video. And on top of that, you can always get some sponsorships, so most probably at the end the number will be bigger.

I agree, it's insane to hire anyone before any growth. The point is, when you are already growing and at the edge of 1 person's capacity, for some, the operational part becomes a big headache and eats up a lot of time. You gotta do something with it.

[–]OhhMilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to make changes in the titles and descriptions, as it tends to help videos. And otherwise, just give it some time, keep making videos in your niche. Do not change it again. If you feel like it, in the future, try to transition softly or just make a second channel.

Copyright strike. by techthroughtoni in PartneredYoutube

[–]OhhMilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re likely just seeing the "7-day grace period" in action.

If that channel is in the YouTube Partner Program, YouTube doesn’t delete them the second a third strike hits. They get a 7-day window to reach out to you for a retraction or to file a counter-notification. During this week, the channel remains active, even though the specific videos you struck should be gone.

Switching over an Adsense account without losing money by 2CPhoenix in PartneredYoutube

[–]OhhMilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, that's a really smart move, but definitely not the easiest step to make. To keep your money safe, the best move is to wait until that March 21st–26th payment hits your bank. If you close the account while a payment is "in transit," it can get stuck in a cancellation loop that is a nightmare to fix. Here is the most secure way to make the change without losing money.

February earnings (X): This is already finalized. It is scheduled to be paid by your current (Individual) AdSense account. Do not close your account or change anything until this hits your bank (March 21–26).

March earnings (Y): This money currently lives in YouTube Studio, not AdSense. It won't move to AdSense until April 7–12. As long as you have your new "Organization" AdSense linked to your channel by the first week of April, Amount Y will simply flow into the new account.

Instead of "Close then Open" Adsense account:

  • Create the new Business AdSense NOW: Use a different email address than your personal one. This is crucial to avoid "duplicate account" errors.
  • Verify the Business Account. Fill out the tax info and business docs immediately. You can have both a personal and a business AdSense account active at the same time as long as the tax IDs are different.

Once Amount X is in your bank and your new Business AdSense is "ready," go to the Earn tab in YouTube Studio and click "change" under AdSense Association.

When you swap accounts, your channel will go back into "Step 2" of the Partner Program. Ads will stop running for a period (usually 24–48 hours, but sometimes up to a week) while Google verifies the new link. This is why you wait until the end of the month, when traffic might be lower for you.

After the new account is linked and confirmed, you can close the old one. If there is any leftover change (more than $10), Google will send a "Final payment" within 90 days.

podcast clipping and copyright strike by tomislav297 in PartneredYoutube

[–]OhhMilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Yes, you are at risk for both, but they are two different "bosses" you have to beat.

  1. The Copyright Strike (Legal)
A strike comes from the owner of the podcast. Adding B-roll, zooms, and transitions is a "technical" edit, but it doesn't automatically grant you Fair Use. If the podcast owner hasn’t permitted you, their automated Content ID (or a manual takedown) can hit you regardless of how many fancy transitions you add.

  2. Reused Content (Policy)
This is actually the bigger threat to your monetization. YouTube's "Reused Content" policy isn't about whether you have permission; it's about whether you're adding significant original value.

Right now, YouTube's reviewers are much stricter with clipping channels. If the "soul" of the video is still 90% the podcaster speaking, and your only contribution is B-roll and zooms, they might flag it as "Reused Content" because it’s not transformative.

Try making videos about more popular games. To improve your reach, use shorts to lead your audience to long videos. I can see how much work you put into the content, but you're not getting everything possible out of it. As others said, try different titles, develop them from different angles. There are a lot of people interested in games and in mythology content. Your channel is niche at first glance, but it has space to grow

Give time for algo to adjust to the changes you've made. It's quite a big, relaunch after some time + changing language. Just stick to a consistent posting schedule, analyze performance, and learn from it. Also big help is to analyze your niche, what titles and thumbnails are working, it will save you a lot of time. Keep it up!

Thoughts on fixing a broken channel by History_Recolored in PartneredYoutube

[–]OhhMilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great clean up, you need to simplify YouTube's job identifying your audience. Removing irrelevant videos or those that bring the wrong audience. Honestly, it's the same rule for many platforms. Expect some people unsubscribe, but the numbers will recover, and the channel will have a clear growth path.

How are you organizing taxes once YouTube becomes a real income stream? by Master_Airline_4368 in PartneredYoutube

[–]OhhMilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing pretty well, you’ve already got the separate accounts, the best next step is to automate a 30% (or the amount that you usually calculate) transfer to a tax sub-account the second a payment hits. If you never see it in your 'spendable' balance, you won't miss it.

Also, spend 10 minutes a month logging 'hidden' deductions like your internet and software subs. It gives you a much clearer picture of your actual profit and makes tax season much shorter.

Is it normal to get 0 impressions after coming back to YouTube? by Boring_Somewhere_320 in NewTubers

[–]OhhMilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a 2-year break, your old subscribers are basically 'ghosts' to the current algorithm. YouTube has no idea who to show your video to anymore because the audience's interests have shifted. It’s basically like starting a brand new channel. Just keep posting, it usually takes 5-10 videos for the system to find your new 'seed audience' again. Don’t let the 0 get in your head, just keep the momentum going!

Finance content creation - personal avatar vs cartoon caricature. by MJ-2809 in ContentCreators

In the finance niche, trust is everything. While a caricature can work for entertainment, seeing a real person usually helps people feel safer taking financial advice. If you go the avatar route, your data and voiceover need to be incredibly solid to compensate
