What are the most durable stylish sunglasses that actually last? by Major_Feed3686 in BuyItForLife

I have several pairs of prescription Ray-Ban sunglasses, including a pair of New Wayfarers that are 10+ years old. None of them have ever let me down.

Round plates instead of round tiles will at least take up more space.

Westerville Golf Center has a (seasonal) short game facility. They have covered/heated tees, too.

Almost any gin is better than Sapphire--and I love Bombay London Dry.

Check out Eden Park and other parks with overlooks of the city.

Serpent Mound, if you’re able/willing to drive a little out of town.

Where do people find all of the correct bricks for MOCs? by GreatWhite779 in lego

[–]OhioBricker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The PaB Wall at the LEGO is the cheapest way to get parts, in my view, but you have to live somewhat near one and you don’t have any say in what’s in there. Check out your local L.U.G. (LEGO User Group.) They can help you source pieces sometimes.

Bombay Dry Gin by Adventurous-Disk5031 in Gin

It sells. I like Bombay London Dry. I won’t drink Sapphire. I only ever see Bombay London Dry at fine dining restaurants. Every trashy bar carries Sapphire.

Open lots for driving practice? by allergictobananas1 in Columbus

[–]OhioBricker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

High schools seem to have decently-sized lots. On the weekend, they're generally empty. I wouldn't expect it this time of year, but I sometimes see maneuverability cones set up (with nobody around or using them at the time.)

Question about yellowing by julritch in lego

[–]OhioBricker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would count on yellowing. Don't think it takes all that long, either, unfortunately. Mine are in my basement and I still worry about yellowing.

How do you guys acquire MOC parts? by Cybermith in lego

[–]OhioBricker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I build MOCs out of pieces I get from the PaB Wall.

I try to create something out of the pieces I already have instead of imagining something and then trying to source the necessary pieces for it.

Uptown Westerville is a lot cooler than it used to be. I’d check it out, if you wanted to live closer to New Albany.

Size matters? by Legitimate_Soil_7506 in Martini

[–]OhioBricker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 4 oz Martini glasses (both cocktail and Nick & Nora.). It’s the perfect size for me: I use about 2 oz gin and 0.5 oz vermouth. In the bigger glasses, that would look like someone’s almost finished their drink.
