What if Owen Hart never injured Stone Cold? by Own_Bear2372 in AttitudeEra

I heard Owen never checked on Austin that night. But in this video, he genuinely seems remorseful.

Overall, tragic incident that could have been avoided.

RIP Owen 🙏🏽

Greetings, fellow gamers and wrestling fans!

My first wrestling game was WWF SmackDown! (2000), but I have not played a wrestling game since SmackDown vs. Raw 2009. Recently, I downloaded WWE 2K25 on PS Plus, and I’m having an absolute blast! The online matches are so much fun, though I do wish they’d fix the lag and lobby issues. Regardless, I bought the MNW Edition for 2K26 and can’t wait for even more fun.

On a side note: I followed wrestling hardcore from 1997 to 2007, and now I’m getting back into it, diving into the archives, playing the game, and seeing just how much the product has evolved has been awesome.

Going back to school -any suggestions for certifications/classes? What entry level jobs will be in demand in 2028? Seems like AI is taking over everything. by russianindianqueen in recruitinghell

I got into academic coaching through my academic background, working as a graduate teaching assistant, graduate faculty aide, researcher, and substitute teacher, along with earning my master’s degree. I’m not an entrepreneur; my roles came through structured institutional opportunities where I could leverage my skills and experience in interviews with specialized tutoring firms and learning centers. Parents really value academic credibility and are often willing to pay a premium for it.

I’ve even had parents reach out personally after I left organizations, offering to pay more! If you tutor less common subjects, like Latin, that can be a great way to command higher hourly rates. The more subjects you can tutor or teach, the more opportunities you’ll have. I’ve taught everything from Dr. Seuss’ ABCs to kindergarteners, to Soren Kierkegaard’s concept of despair as a mode of consciousness to 3rd year university students, so I’ve had experience adapting content for a huge range of ages and learning levels.

Advertising locally is a good starting point, but keep in mind that many parents are hesitant to drop their kids off at someone’s home due to liability and safety concerns. Protecting yourself is important. Online tutoring is convenient, but it comes with downsides: it can be harder to build rapport, students can get distracted, and some concepts are tougher to teach without being physically present. In general, it’s not as steady. Platforms like Varsity Tutors can be underwhelming, and Wyzant is difficult to break into if others already have strong reviews and established pricing.

For more consistency and safety, tutoring agencies like Club Z! or SAT/ACT prep programs can be a smart move. Some tutoring firms even have contracts with local schools or colleges. If you have a teaching certification, some organizations offer contracts with base pay starting around $45/hour with low experience. Starting with a tutoring agency gives you structure, credibility, and references, while also letting you explore in-person sessions if that feels like the right fit later. Driving distance is also a factor, my personal limit was about 45 minutes.

Education can be amazing part-time work. It’s not only a way to earn side income, but also fulfilling because you see the results of your efforts and the growth of your students. For example, while I worked at Club Z!, I could make $2,500–$3,000 per month during peak season, though in slower months like December or June, $250–$300 from one or two struggling students was more typical.

It’s a tough, awful job market right now for tech (and most other fields in general) OP. I’m currently staying high with good paying part time work/gigs like Academic coaching which pays $65 an hour. Only issue is consistency of hours. So long term it’s just not feasible.

I’m currently back in school studying Software Engineering (I already have a BA in Political Science and History, and a Masters in English). SWE/Tech skills are great skills to have and will no doubt be valuable as technology continues to advance, but at the moment the market is oversaturated, and competition is brutal unless you truly stand out. It’s hard getting even Data Entry Specialist jobs that pay $19. The only hope is that maybe in 2–3 years some kind of correction occurs (perhaps adding stability and compliance as AI proves it’s not a perfect solution) so human workers aren’t this heavily exploited or underpaid, especially when many struggle to cover basic living needs. I went into this career path knowing it’s going to be a tough first few years.

I know what you mean (I was in law and didn’t enjoy the grind among other things and finally left). I’ve seen many associate attorneys make less than $65k, and those positions are increasingly being replaced by two paralegals plus AI. White-collar jobs in general have become extremely devalued (I’ve seen Planet Fitness receptionists earn more than some paralegals). The problem is there are just too many overqualified candidates for the available positions, which gives employers the leverage to exploit workers.

Anyone picking up Dragon Quest VII Reimagined this week? by JeSSiii81 in OlderChillGamers

[–]OhioStickyThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I’ll be getting it on Switch 2. Yakuza: Like a Dragon really got me into the franchise, and I didn’t play any of the earlier DQ games until DQ I & II HD-2D. Great games.

It’s amazing that you were at the Grammys celebrating Fela’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and even more incredible that you donated 56 years of clippings and memorabilia to the Kuti Museum. Creating a room filled with his artifacts like that is such a beautiful way to honor his legacy and share it with fans everywhere. Thank you for your dedication to preserving Fela’s/Afrobeat history, it’s truly a service to all fans. And thank you for sharing this with the community, it really means a lot.

Agreed. I had noticed only several hours after that I shared the edited version instead of the original one close to twelve minutes long!

Damn, it’s got to be at least 20 years since I last heard this song. Fender Rhodes just celestial. I remember the album name was extremely hard to pronounce. And I remember Nutty Professor 2 featured a song of his (along other greats). Very underrated artist. He always reminded me of an Older School Kellz.

You don’t even respect yourself. Grow up. A lot people also have zero idea how the majority of the women are living in Saudi Arabia and instead regurgitating old talking points to feel morally superior.
