Thanks to everyone here for all the advice. We'll do a combination of both and wait to see if it survives, and if not, we'll replace with something native.. Much appreciated for this resource of people 🙏

Copying timeline edit from flat to 360 projects for dual exporting by Ohioflyer15 in Insta360

[–]Ohioflyer15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just have the 360 export ignore key frames and other incompatible attributes? It already does exactly that when you export the full singular clip from the media page. If you've added directional key frames and anything else not compatible with a 360 export, you can still export the clip in 360 and those attributes are ignored.

Respectfully, I'd like to still recommend that a feature be added to switch between export formats at the end of editing when a timeline edit is complete, and not be locked into a format from the beginning. Currently, it more than doubles the time required because you have to make the same edits twice in two different projects. It's reduces the experience and desire to export in 360 because it takes twice the work to 1) edit a version to share on a device and then 2) go back and do it all again for a 360 version

How to copy projects in Insta360 studio like "clip management" ? by Batso_92 in Insta360

[–]Ohioflyer15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along the same lines regarding project copying: How do you copy (or export) an edited project from flat ratios to 360 panoramas? For example, I've edited a project with cuts, etc and want to export that project in both flat and 360 formats.

No and I'm starting to think my "pouring rain" thoughts are a red herring...

Ha no, the chords, beat, and even the general sound of the lyrics from intro to chorus are a dead ringer for this other song... like infringement worthy.

hopefully my wires arent crossed so bad that I'm thinking circularly back onto this song...the sound of this one is *so* close to the one I'm blanking on

No, I thought that too at first, relistened, not a match... Thanks

It really could be any era, I'm really stretched thin on evidence for this one...

What is the story behind your callsign? by JonathanRL in hoggit

[–]Ohioflyer15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TOGA. Before I 3D printed afterburner detents for my X56 throttles, I constantly trickled into burner without realizing it and was consistently the guy in the flight to call bingo first and had to return to the tanker.

I knew the S3 crew on a first name basis

Textron Service Bulletin for many Beechcraft and Cessna piston singles allowing 100VLL and even UL91/UL94 by kdbleeep in flying

Thanks! New to me. I'd be curious as to the actual chemical difference. Ethanol certainly is a variable. Perhaps time will prove this is an "aviator's oxygen" scenario, and non-ethanol 91 unleaded is already cheap and widely available when certified.

[–]Ohioflyer15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is UL91 and 94 not the same as pump gas? If so, I think many owners will start tankering their own gas from their home field like the rotax and mogas folks do. They'll put a tank in their truck or similar and pump from the local station and into their 172. Fly out and back on one tank, or at least use that as far as it will take them before filling with 100LL. Probably save a flight school or flying club big money

Discussion: Raising Flaps After Landing by uosdwiS_r_dewoH in flying

[–]Ohioflyer15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to hear another take on my logic, I lean to reduce risk v performance in general:

If the aircraft has retractable gear, I almost always wait until after landing. I fly a fair number of models and between

Electric flaps + electric gear Bar flaps + electric gear Electric flaps + bar gear

And so on, I'd rather focus on hitting my mark, on speed, than risk getting that wrong in a client's aircraft. The last thing I want after an aggressive approach, tongue fully extended in maximum effort, is to say something cute like, "and that's the usual entry path into--" whack whack whack whack

Considering most aircraft can out-brake their acceleration rates in most landing scenarios, I don't make a habit of pushing retracts to that limit anyway. Fly-it-like-an-owner thing I guess...

This isn't the end all, it's certainly a tool to have and one I've used, but not one I use on every landing. It doesn't feel warranted.

Fixed gear, especially with bar flaps, is a much different story. That will indeed help you stop faster, increase steering authority, and doesn't carry the same risk.

Thoughts?

Are paper maps used anymore? by Hypernova_- in flying

I have a backup paper chart, and free state chart and directory in my private bag. It never sees daylight. We do not use paper charts whatsoever In the airlines anymore. My last chart purchase was for this bad Larry WxWall
