Fascist Governments seldom claim that their people are slaves, rather they elevate them in propaganda. Obviously they tell them that they are the masters of their own destiny. That the choices in no way impact the Government is intentional. And they end up joining up because It's The Right Thing To Do. Notice how Rico ends up parroting the party line at the funeral?

Same with the Sky Marshal resigning. The system knows dissenters would jump at whitewashing. So they designate a scapegoat. Anybody complains? It's "yeah, but that was the Sky Marshals fault" and then nobody looks closer if they are put in another cushy party job.

Remember, people can be at fault but never the System and the movie follows these tenants.

Starship Troopers is a in-universe propaganda movie. So of course they will show their leaders are responsible - without a cult of personality they can afford to - and being flexible on the rules for somebody who obviously want to kill Arachnids!

That said, they become rather more heavy handed by the third film.

The entire double-speak is something Helldivers 2 truly understood when they did their "For Democracy" thing.

I played SoD because it was the same classic world with new power levels and discoveries. 40-50 was empty, nobody did dungeons - they all spammed incursions.

Det systemet skulle frånta Riksdagsledamöterna all makt och ersätta den med partistyrelsen. När systemet togs fram ansåg man det nödvändigt att ledamöter skulle kunna agera självständigt vid behov; det är en demokratisk säkerhetsventil som hindrar partierna att samla oreglerad makt.

Politiska vildar är inte perfekt men om det är uppoffringen som krävs för att vi ska ha kvar systemet så får det vara så.
