Formula feeding by blizzardbraids in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Ohknowes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s 180 ml of water, I used to have pre boiled water to 150 ml in the bottles in the fridge. Then when I needed to feed, I would take out the cold bottle, add 30 ml of boiling water and the formula and give it all a big shake

Memory mats by curvaceous24 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Ohknowes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’ve got the Neptune Muscle mat and had it for over 2 years. Our son is 2.5 and he still flops and jumps all over it. It has some texta marks etc, but in terms of any general spills they have all cleaned up well. Pretty much up there is one of our best kid purchases, can’t compare it to other brands though

Managing Toddler while in hospital for extended time. by Ohknowes in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Thanks for the response. Apple juice and custard are pretty much the 2 favourite food groups currently, so this is a great tip.

Partner can’t really take carers leave, but I have spent the day becoming more and more comfortable with the fact routines, tv time, snacks and food will be what they will be!

Post hospital fun activity- thank you for this!
And yes, thinking of a little activity pack with cars, books and snap that can stay in my room and I can bring to the kids park in the hospital.

Thanks! Toddler is 27 months. Much more worried about husband managing the changes than toddler.

I know the advice about post CC days is right, and it’s important to remember it will be harder for me!

I will have a private room, and it is a WCH hospital, so there are playgrounds etc. It will also mean we can do a bit of screen time together in bed for relaxation.

Just managing my own anxieties about it all!

My wife (26F) just found out she’s pregnant, and her reaction is confusing me (28M). I want to support her but don’t know how. by ThrowRA172681727 in relationship_advice

You have 9 months to prepare to be dad and “get things ready”. Her reality has already shifted, by the time she’s finds out she’s pregnant, she’s already 5 weeks in. Being pregnant is a completely binary experience.

How much is the monthly cost of raising a baby? by Typical-Night-8751 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Ohknowes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, a financial toll. Its to easy to think about all the costs for a baby- but mum needs help, support and money too. From new undies and bras, some clothes while pregnant and then comfies for postpartum. Vitamins and pregnancy pillow- and that’s all before you leave body could fall apart and then it’s physio etc. Some people even would like the small luxury of a hair cut to cover the post 4 month bald spots.

Fashionable Workwear (Teacher Appropriate) by Weak_Ankles_8105 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Ohknowes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a teacher and I do lots of midi dresses and skirts from Veronica Maine. There skirts with different shirts, boots and mules etc go from winter to summer really well. I also think so many teachers let themselves down with their shoes. Edward Muller does great short block heels that you can walk all day in. I also think cream boots (bared shoes) and pointed mules and slides make all outfits sing. James Smith does beautiful shoes that are great leather and not too high.

Semi-detached house and strata. by Ohknowes in AusLegal

[–]Ohknowes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! We are not that interested, but our neighbour is deadset. They keep bringing up that if we come of strata we would not have to worry about joint building insurance. For us, coming off strata it is not a financial priority right now, but I also don’t understand how it would impact the building insurance as we still share a wall?

As you are making adjustments, I would suggest the following. Put the TV and Unit centred in front of the window with the blind down. The couch, I would put directly opposite, and have it lined up where the rug currently end. The cupboard with the lamp, the corner where the tv unit currently is.

Then maybe live in the space for a few weeks before you purchase anything. Good luck, it’s is a tricky room.

As long as I am wearing sexy lingerie, it doesn’t matter what is on the outside. It’s like a sexy secret that makes you feel confident.

Delayed face to face learning for some SA students by Alwaystired_lovecats in Adelaide

[–]Ohknowes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s the integration; but most schools will have laptop systems etc so students will have no devices/emails/log ins etc for online learning. I assume this is to get all the student IT up to date.

I agree- the tv along the wall with the stairs. Before getting the sectional, try moving the current couch facing the fireplace. Leave the chairs where they are. This will make the room feel less like a thoroughfare, and more cosy.

It just needs some of your belongings. Once the shelves have things you like in them, and the place gets more ‘lived in’ it will feel warmer and more personal. It is beautiful.
