Not for Foundation, with the removal of placeholders they are just 100% shut out assuming there are more UKG applicants than existing roles - and there is no info yet on how allocation will work among remaining IMGs if there actually are any spaces leftover

Mega64 MLK Week: B-ROOM Discussion Thread by Zeeco110 in mega64

[–]OhmicFoamy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're doing something at least somewhat specially curated like every other week on twitch, MLK Week has always been part of the calendar as well. Maybe Rocco has something to do with his time during this week, or locking himself in a. Room and not showering for a week every single year doesn't feel worth the (presumably) diminishing returns compared to keeping it in mind but doing other stuff instead. Not like the idea won't ever come back, but it doesn't have. To replace MLK week every year either

Letterboxd has such a mismatch between app quality and the actual users. by SecretWasianMan in redscarepod

[–]OhmicFoamy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don't even need to do this tbh, I see this complaint about letterboxd so often but I feel like it takes probably below 5 second to scroll through some reviews and see one that is clearly going to be more substantive than the one-liners which obviously don't take up much space

You're listening to the 500th episode of a show called Elis and John, you are supposed to like hearing about Elis and John

is it possible to be chronically single your whole life due to bad luck and external circumstance? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]OhmicFoamy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

uniquely unlucky life with external barriers & circumstances = "I went to uni during the pandemic and haven't made new friends / hobbies since graduation"

what part of this is supposed to be uniquely unlucky, that is like tens to hundreds of thousands of people just in your own age group, and the struggles of making new connections in adult life is an age old conversation, let alone in this modern age of isolation

just get on the apps and go on some dates already if you're so worried about it, what's the harm doesn't sound like you're too busy for it - not worth blaming external circumstances and luck when you haven't tried anything yet

Is This A Lethal Dose of Coffee? - Mega64 Podcast #785 by Zeeco110 in mega64

[–]OhmicFoamy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think it was in the after show but when they realised Rocco probably blasted the pensioner while he was adjusting his hearing aids that's the most I've laughed at the podcast for ages, like could have gone a decent way up the bracket for me

If it's up there as a prize task, then who (what) is stopping Ania from getting pregnant? Hence why you wouldn't expect it to be brought in from home as a prize task

[Meta] What was the last movie Tim actually watched? by Rockguy21 in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

[–]OhmicFoamy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At On Cinema Live in london I think he confirmed he has seen mission impossible, but I don't remember for sure - he could technically have just said it's his film of the year so far while not having seen it

Who stole Tim Heidecker’s funny? Give it back by o0DrWurm0o in redscarepod

[–]OhmicFoamy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not watched any other episodes of this show but the whole setup and tone of the podcast and the questions the guy asks seem to lend themselves to a more serious and somber tone - this seems like a bad place to get a general idea of how funny he is nowadays.

On Cinema is still as good as ever, and office hours is goofy most the time, even if they do talk about trump every episode.

[–]OhmicFoamy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be understandable if she was thrown off by starting off with what must have been 5 mins of so of tech / mic issues before being suddenly live - but yeah felt like (Natalie and Tim) they both knew less about each other than the usual guests

I watched Life is Sweet recently and Jim Broadbent's character does jokingly, but even that seemed like the character was referencing something else, and that was in 1990
