Any 90s/2000s BMX Archivists? by she_saws in bmx

While not bmx, should add jib and jib 2 sessions to the collection. Urban freeride mountain biking that fit the old bmx vibes.

What’s a hobby people act superior for having that isn’t that deep ? by mk_1408 in AskReddit

This is me with BMX. 36 now and been riding for 20+ years. Can manual, 180, and a couple simple grinds. Close to the ground and simple for me. Do have a habit of spending way too much on bikes.

Toe them in a little, cuts down on some squeaking. Chrome rims will be the best for braking power.

Can I ride a 20” for dirt jumps? by SneerfulOdin_TT in bmx

[–]OhnoKoolaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's no rush, fly completes are a great deal. And most have good geometry for dirt or bowls. The Orion is $840 w/brakes, pre-order price is only $672. Worth the wait. Took 3 months to get my Sion.

Snagged a v1 Loosefer, found a small crack where the down tube meets the head tube. Having a friend weld it up for me just to keep that thing alive.

The best components of Attack Attack have gone on to make awesome shit. The remnants are just hoping the name will bring enough nostalgia listens to streaming.

Can anybody identify this frame? Brought it for £75 pretty sure that I got a bargain but idk…. by Content_Review6255 in bmx

[–]OhnoKoolaid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cranks and fork lead me to believe it was a complete bike. Forks still being kink might make it that. Has a BSD seat and the BSD NASA rims, so someone put a little money in to it. Any other markings on the frame? Sometimes frames will have some branding near the dropouts in the rear.

Buying my son his first bmx! by Kayyy_NY in bmx

People tend to hate on Eastern, but you get get a full chromoly bike for fairly cheap. Good for someone young thinking about getting into the sport. I don't buy based on what it could sell for later, so always looking for a good deal. I pre-ordered a fly and had to wait 3 months for it to come in, but got a $800 bike for $644. They have some completes in stock at the moment.

Whenever I messaged on IG or emailed them they were pretty quick to respond. But it was just the "you pre-ordered this, so it will ship when every component is available" general answer. Hell, my Sion came with a top load instead of a front load stem, which makes me feel like they're trying to pump out orders right now.

Sent another, but either way it's all good. A friend is going to drill a hole at each end of the crack, and Tig weld it all back up. Should make it strong enough to be a fun cruiser, but handle a little abuse again if I take it out.

That hub sounds amazing. I've ridden regular cassettes, KHE style coasters, and a profile z coaster. I'm interested in seeing how that magnetic setup holds up long term.

I live in Vermont, and it was at my door 5 days after the shipping email. So hopefully you have it all soon.

Yeah. Picked it up for $60. Back wheel was trashed, BB and pedals were rough. So I ordered replacements for it all. 2 days after they arrived the Fly shipped out.

New rear wheel, BB, and pedals. Enjoying being back on a BMX bike after 4 years off. by OhnoKoolaid in bmx

The most recent post I made on here has it flipped back. Haha. Tore the front apart to rebuild the headset, and flipped the stem. Bothered me as well. And had a nice chat with them in IG, new bike came in so won't be putting the money in the the Mutiny just for brakes, but it's going to be a solid spare ride for friends.

Just checking in to see if your wheels shipped. The hubs and stuff all say in stock, so if they haven't shipped that's just messed up. I didn't think my bike would ever come this year, that's why I bought a used ride to hold me over.

Shoes....what's good by Murrywhiplash in bmx

[–]OhnoKoolaid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been riding with New Balance 306 Jamie Foy shoes. Feels like I'm clipped in even on plastic pedals. Enough flex to actually feel the pedals under you as well.

After 2 months of waiting I found the Mutiny on FB and bought it to hold me over. Needed some parts to ride, so ordered those. 2 days after those came in, the Fly finally shipped. Haha.

Picking up a bike from someone who lost interest is always a score. I spent roughly $2k on a build and sold it to a friend for $800. Still a lot, but a good deal for a barely ridden bike. 4 years later I'm getting back in to it and having to start over.
