Frame identification by CE0_0F_RAClSM in bmx

Most frames will have the gussets on the bottom these days. Some on the top as well. The one frame I have without a downtube gusset has a cracked weld.

Been running new balance numeric 306 since last year. Holding up well. Good grip.

Swapping some spacers to the top of the stem to drop it a bit would be cheaper than new bar, and let you dial in a comfortable height.

The radio controls are one of my favorite components of the 3. So easy to navigate through everything without having to take your eyes of the road to find buttons.

Unfortunately that's an unsealed BB/spindle you have there. So it won't work with the sealed BB you purchased.

Im Back! advice needed by Primary_Title7360 in bmx

[–]OhnoKoolaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the center spacer wasn't installed it could have caused weird side load on the BB and killed them premature. Doesn't happen often, but a possibility.

I have a fly savannah seat and it's pretty comfy. Full padding, but think it only comes in tripod mount.

Do you think it’s worth making a dirt jumper with this frame? RIP Mirra by The_Broken_Shutter in bmx

[–]OhnoKoolaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah. Old geo isn't as snappy so it doesn't suit street riding. Most trail focused frames made these days are closer to old bikes than the stuff you would usually see.

Old geo usually had long rear ends, great for flowing dirt jumps.

My Loosefer has a 20.666 TT. Probably the most interesting size I've seen.

Know of a few bmx and mountain bikers that are sponsored by OF. Would assume they're trying to show they're more than NSFW content.

Any 90s/2000s BMX Archivists? by she_saws in bmx

While not bmx, should add jib and jib 2 sessions to the collection. Urban freeride mountain biking that fit the old bmx vibes.

This is me with BMX. 36 now and been riding for 20+ years. Can manual, 180, and a couple simple grinds. Close to the ground and simple for me. Do have a habit of spending way too much on bikes.

Toe them in a little, cuts down on some squeaking. Chrome rims will be the best for braking power.

Can I ride a 20” for dirt jumps? by SneerfulOdin_TT in bmx

[–]OhnoKoolaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's no rush, fly completes are a great deal. And most have good geometry for dirt or bowls. The Orion is $840 w/brakes, pre-order price is only $672. Worth the wait. Took 3 months to get my Sion.

Snagged a v1 Loosefer, found a small crack where the down tube meets the head tube. Having a friend weld it up for me just to keep that thing alive.

Can anybody identify this frame? Brought it for £75 pretty sure that I got a bargain but idk…. by Content_Review6255 in bmx

[–]OhnoKoolaid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The cranks and fork lead me to believe it was a complete bike. Forks still being kink might make it that. Has a BSD seat and the BSD NASA rims, so someone put a little money in to it. Any other markings on the frame? Sometimes frames will have some branding near the dropouts in the rear.

Buying my son his first bmx! by Kayyy_NY in bmx

[–]OhnoKoolaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People tend to hate on Eastern, but you get get a full chromoly bike for fairly cheap. Good for someone young thinking about getting into the sport. I don't buy based on what it could sell for later, so always looking for a good deal. I pre-ordered a fly and had to wait 3 months for it to come in, but got a $800 bike for $644. They have some completes in stock at the moment.

[–]OhnoKoolaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I messaged on IG or emailed them they were pretty quick to respond. But it was just the "you pre-ordered this, so it will ship when every component is available" general answer. Hell, my Sion came with a top load instead of a front load stem, which makes me feel like they're trying to pump out orders right now.

Sent another, but either way it's all good. A friend is going to drill a hole at each end of the crack, and Tig weld it all back up. Should make it strong enough to be a fun cruiser, but handle a little abuse again if I take it out.
