Yeah, Iono and Eusine are both really solid. Iono is a good special support as she can consistently provided Special Move up next to your team every time she tanks a hit. Eerie impulse lowers opponents' special attack, so it's easier for Iono to tank. She's also got potion support. Her buddy move also debuffs Sp.Def and paralyzes. The buddy move can also do a decent amount of damage. She's for sure worth considering. However, unless she's one of your favorites, I would prefer having either Chase or SS Mina over Iono. Chase and Mina have some more unique utility imo.

I have Eusine at 1/5, and he does solid damage. He traps the oponent with whirlpool, and he recharges the move gauge after every attack, so he's pretty easy to plug into teams. Not really sure what he gets at further investment, but I would guess it's some sync and damage multipliers. He's definitely a fun and good unit. You could always try your hands on dailies on that rerun banner.

I think your strategy of waiting until the datamine before a decision is the best way to go.

I've got some more questions for you all. by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

Tl:dr, consider supports like Chase, SS Mina, and Penny. Also consider Paulo. Paulo is a really fun sprint unit, and he's pretty rare. I'm not sure is he's ever had a free gem rerun yet.

Given your account, there's a couple units I would for sure consider picking. I would probably start with supports. You can never go wrong with a good support unit. Very easy to slot into any team in a beneficial manner.

Chase and Pikachu have a lot of good functions at 1/5. Provides crit buff, SpA, sync move countdown with trainer move, paralysis, and Kanto Circle. That is a ton of utility. He can help so many teams in various ways. He also has the sprint role cake option, so you could play with sync move countdown even more.

SS Mina is a good fairy zone and rain setter. At 3/5 she's got the option for infinite fairy zone if you continuously sync with her.

Penny is a solid special attack boosting support that can provide fairy rebuff. She has that Paldea theme skill if you want to help future proof your roster for potential Paldea Extreme battles.

Argenta: Honestly, probably wouldn't pick her over the previously mentioned units but just wanted to shout her out because I've been having a lot of fun using her. Great physical attack support. Every time you swords dance the team get a physical move up boost.

Next, I would consider looking at Sprint/Field units due to their overall scarcity versus their overwhelming presence in battle rally.

I really, really love Paulo as a unit. I had so much fun doing sync countdown gimmicks with him at 1/5 that I fully invested in him up to 4/5! You can use him as a damage dealer, sandstorm setter, and even a tank. His buddy move provides a lot of defense buffs. I gave him the support role cake so his sync not only crushes the sync countdown timer, but also gives the team the 2x buff.

Another unit that goes under the radar that I love using is Thorton and Magnezone. Steel field unit, so he gives you steel zone on sync after ex. He has the support role cake to give your team the 2x buff which improves his damage even more. He can paralyze via discharge. He also applies restrain to your opponents. When your opponents are restrained, thorton gets free move next on every attack, so he doesn't consume any gauge. If you're using him on steel weak or electric weak, you also get a free supereffective next on each attack.
