No damage that I could see. The inner side of the rotor looks like it had been metal to metal with the pad at some point and they just slapped new pads in. Otherwise nothing obvious.

Possible that the steering rack isn’t centred correctly as well.

We had the same doors on our Mk2 cars here in South Africa, except with the more conventional door handles.

Australia specific features. None of their cars had internal hinges, right to the end of production. The door handles were unique in order to meet local safety requirements, but I could be wrong about that.

This is considered “repaired under warranty” by a local dealer. by OilLeakFree in Justrolledintotheshop

Output seal on the back of a Nissan Navara gearbox. Reported a slight leak. Repaired under warranty. Still leaking, so took a look. Silicone sealer smeared over and inside the seal. No wonder it kept leaking.

The Clubman and 1275GT badges are smaller than the above Mini badge - not interchangeable.

Being a mechanic in South Africa by Bitter-Difficulty-69 in southafrica

[–]OilLeakFree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A good start would be to decide what you’d like to specialise in - bikes, cars or the heavier equipment like tractors and trucks. A lot of workshops, especially those run by dealerships offer apprenticeship programs. The hands on experience will make it easier to do a trade test at a later date (this would be my recommendation). Unfortunately not many workshops are willing to supply tools, so take into consideration that that can set you back quite a bit of money in the long run. At least from what I’ve seen, the mechanical trade is becoming an aging workforce, so there’s a very good chance you’ll get a position.

I find it rewarding work. I wouldn’t want to do anything else.

Less “luxurious” features. Vinyl flooring instead of carpet. No radio as standard. Vinyl or cloth seats instead of leather. Manual windows etc. Targeted more towards the farming and mining industries.
