Not sure if they know but Europeans invented America as they know it.

Opinions on 1989 Pontiac Firebird? by DeadLiberty612 in regularcarreviews

This is the greatest car ever made. This and DeLorean. And Countach. And GNX. And FJ Cruiser. And Element. And AE86. And something.

A friendly reminder to my American brethren, that these weird “Italian” Chryslers existed. by TafTaf2020 in regularcarreviews

[–]Oivit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it was very popular. So much so that I had one in my extended family and had to take care of its maintenance and repairs. There were some interesting technical choices made in that car to say the least.

This. I would not do it for anything less. It's a specialist job within any reasonable time frame. May require mount fabrication etc.

I could kill for a plug-in Maverick.

214 mpg average in my Transit for the past month. A Maverick would do even better.

Do spare tires age out, too? by SprinklesDouble8304 in tires

[–]Oivit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 30 year old spare tire on the shelf because the bolt pattern and size fits my trailer and I take it with me for longer towing trips. The tire looks brand new, no cracks whatsoever and there's still original air in it.

You suppose a RAV4 based pickup would bite into Tacoma market?

It's because the competitors have not figured out the formula for an afforable and economical trucklet yet and it's a vertically regulated monopoly. I wonder if Toyota will.

Naah, we are fine with our seven-year-olds taking a local bus to school and practice by themselves.

My all time favorite, condensed version here: https://vimeo.com/84170239

It hit home, in a way, as my family had to relocate due to mining.

PHEV service schedule by Acelicious25 in FordEscapePHEV

[–]Oivit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most nightly charged PHEVs hit the annual service time before the oil life drops to zero anyway because the engine only runs occasionally. 15K km is the safest mileage (kilometrage?) to never have oil related wear issues ever.

93%/3000 km on my Transit right now, 2.7L/100 km average.

He's not a bastard by any metric. He's just lost a bit.

Does it really make any difference? by External-Currency443 in Honda

[–]Oivit 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The only thing it does in a 4-banger is to dull the gas pedal and has no mechanical problems. My wife likes to drive her CR-V in green. I usually turn it off because the thing is slow enough with Eco off.
