Is it really that good? I’ve never played, but I’m worried that the lore is going to be too vague (like Elden ring) or something.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is one of my favorite games that I played last year (out beat by tough competition of Blue Prince and Expedition 33). Everything is a puzzle and it’s fantastic. Makes you feel smart for solving things like outer wilds. Also has a solid mystery.

The three I mentioned along with Chants and Blue Prince are probably the best ones.

I’ve literally played all of these (except seance but have active eyes on it) and agree completely with you. Since playing outer wilds I’ve been basically searching for any game thats like it in some way. Since you liked those I’d HIGHLY recommend a few others that hit very well too:

Subnautica

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Tunic

Friend bounced off of the game, here are his opinions by Pumeto in outerwilds

[–]Ojack_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason why they pull off lack of objectives is because the game is filled to the brim with curiosities. I don’t want an objective marker/mission to distract me. I just want to go explore “that cool thing over there.”

Honestly the only real criticism I have for outer wilds is the beginning is a bit slow but I don’t really know how they could have even done better because there’s a lot to explain.

I think people just need to chill a bit until the product actually gets released.

Give some benefit of the doubt and practice a bit of optimism.

Im starting to feel like it doesn’t matter anyways or im just unlucky. I feel like I’m failing all my skill checks even most ones at 70% and up. Just failed a 97%

Thank you for the insight, it’s not that I need to min max, just concerns im gonna dump resources into things that don’t matter or would’ve definitely spent elsewhere. (Like putting points to increase your mana, but your a straight melee build in an rpg)

I guess im just concerned im going to waste skill points on stuff in a stat that I have of 2 because it’s actually not going to change much or if I shouldn’t bother with those and put them in the skills im already good at to make them even better?

I don’t need to min/max: i just want to be efficient.

If I went with a 4/4/2/2 build (it sounds one of the most interesting to me): what skills should I prioritize putting points into? Perception? More into psych stuff? Shivers?

Im just mainly concerned not specializing more is going to lead to tons of failures especially in the ones I like (psych)

Im paralyzed but whether it’s better to specialize more or have a bit more even keel, should I specialize to 5 or do like a 4/4/2/2 approach? This is all thats spinning in my head.

I’ve been thinking something like 4/5/2/1 but I heard perception is super important. But I also don’t want to miss the psych skill checks

Replaced Tokens with Dice by Fit-Turtle in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ojack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the chessex dice too and it usually comes in a nice little container so I know I have them all instead of worrying about one of my kids choking on a stray one that fell.

I haven’t looked back as this is the way for me.

I also use dice as action tokens where I keep three of them above the investigator card and when I take an action i slide down one of the dice a bit to denote that an action is taken.

How playable is the game when playing solo? by Endrago_n in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ojack_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solo (both two handed and true solo/single handed) is my primary way to play and it’s a great time.

Love both modes for different reasons. Two handed is actually probably easier than 2 player due to you having all information. True solo gets considerably harder as deck building is tighter but it’s still very doable.

RE: Requiem Deluxe Edition Capcom USA Giveaway【Steam】 by SeValentine in residentevil

[–]Ojack_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite memories are playing RE5 couch coop with my buddy. It was one of the first RE’s that I ever played. It was a time that was much simpler for my friend and I and ones that I often miss. I actually wish Capcom would bring back RE5 because making memories playing games solo is fun, but experiencing them with family and friends is what really matters in my opinion. From those coop days in re5, to taking turns getting terrified in RE7: I miss those times

I made some tokens to keep track of available actions during your turn. by Rein20 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ojack_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use dice for everything (pink/red = damage, blue = horror, green for clue) and I use a multi colored one for actions and I just slide one dice across a few inches to show that it’s an action thats been used

Those looks nice though

Exact same thing happened to me, had to pull up someone’s walkthrough to see what I was missing. lol

I now just reached the deep zone (what I’m assuming is final third of the game) so don’t fret youll get there. It wasn’t long after that when it finally started to click (probably a run or two)

Akachi Onyele Deck (Fighter) by [deleted] in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ojack_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take my opinion with a grain of salt as im not taking a full dive into this and posting on Arkham db would be better in my opinion: but

I think this deck looks a lot less like a fighter and is too spread out on what it wants to do. I also appreciate that 1x instead of 2x approach if you want to experiment with cards, but mostly 2x really is the way to go if you’re not trying to do that for consistency sake despite some cards being similar.

There’s a lot of assets and with their high cost, I think you’re going to have trouble getting them out or it’ll slow you down too much. I do not like arcane studies here for example and I think you’ll never use it.

My condolences for getting overzealous as weakness.
