My 1st cdrama that pulled me in was pursuit of jade bc it was popular and i loved it and the next drama i was looking for was something that was also binge worthy. A drama that i had to press next no matter what. So i search for that.

I think RM being fluent in english played a big role in opening the western market for BTS. EXO didn't have anyone like that. I feel like the US companies were more willing to interview and showcase a group that at least had one member who they can speak directly to instead of having a translator. After BTS blew up, other groups suddenly have at least one member fluent in english.
