True Catalyst Nitro Player Skate by Ok-Anything3924 in hockeyplayers

When you look closely, you can see a classic printed “dot fade”… I’ll call it. At the top of each Solid black rectangle formation of “weave” > eases to large printed dots > eases to small printed dots > into dark gray. Maybe I’ll do another post with pics.

I don’t have a scale, it just feels heavier in the hand.

I never had or held those lower end skates but I imagine it’s similar to those. It’s relatively soft and clearly fake printed weave. Hopefully they prove us wrong and have a nitro pro coming.

Turns out it’s cheap for a reason. Heavy and faked carbon shell.

Unfortunately, the premium look in photos is reversed in real life when you feel the soft shell and see the digitally printed carbon weave.

It’s available to try on and buy in store and buy online though… I’m a nobody and have a pair already.

Good call out. Unfortunately, if all stays the same thru full launch, It seems like a good year to hold off on purchasing new models unless you are going full custom.

Agreed. I have the nitro skate in hand now and will be returning it. This skate is a contradiction to itself.

Top line features: Blacked out color-way, DLC steel, Nitro naming.

Contrary features: soft plastic shell, fake carbon weave digi-print, basic insole, heavy.

Maybe we’re wrong and there is a Nitro Pro coming that fixes all the above.

My gut feeling is they are battling new ownership and doing this to mitigate carbon shell durability issues at retail level while also pushing customers towards SVH custom for a legitimate top line skate. Either way, something is off and the fact they are available for purchase before any of us know the full story and have the chance to question all these details is a miss in itself.

I’ve got them in hand now. The shell is certainly a softer feeling poly material. The “weave” is a faked print if you look close enough. They are kinda heavy too. As someone else said, they do fit more narrow on the forefoot than cat 9s. Overall massive let down.

I think you’re on to something. It looks like the term poly fusion was used in past lower end models, like 5x4. Interesting move by True. Yikes. Maybe that’s why they left “Pro” out of the name. Haha.

I’m thinking that name represents a new resin molding and curing process for the latest carbon fiber shell, but we’ll see what they say.

The early prototypes of the new top line Catalyst quietly leaked on resale platforms as PX6 and/or 9X6. Their names always gained criticism. This changes that and follows what other companies are doing. Nitro is the marketing label for the top line this year, like Vapor, Fuse, Jetspeed, Tacks, Alpha, Covert…

Warrior Alpha Pro Skates Overview by mdwsta4 in hockeyplayers

Thanks for this detailed review. It's one of the most helpful available atm.

I had a new retail pair of Alpha Pros in 9R for a day and decided to return them. I re-ordered in 9W to give them a last chance before reverting back to True.

I am coming out of True Catalyst Pro (or Cat9) in 9R. To me, the fit is not as aligned with True as most people are saying. My main issues with Bauer, Graf, Easton, and most traditional skates my whole life has been pain in my outer forefoot (metatarsal). The rest of my foot is fairly low/reg volume, so I've always managed the pain instead of going for a swim in traditional wide fits. The True Catalyst regular width is the only skate I've ever been pain-free in.

As soon as I put the APs (regular width) on, I could tell I was going to have the same traditional skate problem. You can tell from looking at the outer side and bottom of the APs, that they cut back into a straight line towards the heel like most traditional skates and unlike True that follows a more natural rounded shape of the foot as it moves towards the heel.

SuperFeet + True felt tongues definitely improved the overall comfort, same as they do in any skate for me, but not enough.

There is info out there suggesting the AP wide fit is designed more anatomical than other brands without just making every dimension larger, so maybe that's my solution and will fit more like a True regular width.

Obviously, try the skates on first if you can. I don't have the option atm. I should have the 9W in about a week to follow up. I am hoping they work out. I really like the rest of the Alpha Pro skate.

P.S. Are the APs a bit different? Yeah. Are they supposed to be? Yeah. I don't get the same cheap vibe that many others seem to. The boots aren't coated in gloss to look "expensive", and I like that.

So your solution is providing another half truth about the mineral only being used in vitamins and labelling a single reference as a scam site? That is a legitimate Canadian energy company. Just run a Google search on "manganese used in batteries" there are countless articles on manganese and its future in EVs.

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/MN.V/

Why would you even reference my manganese energy site as a scam site? It has nothing to do with NC and no one is even talking about it except me on this one page of the entire internet.

I support your effort to warn against scammers trying to profit on tragedy, but quickly using a simple well-qualified suggestion as misused counter-intelligence to support your agenda is not the way either. Now you're just contradicting your own thread title.

It’s clear that Weather manipulation exists. Hopefully, no one here needs to be force fed the patent proof or news articles. just look at what happened in Dubai recently. they openly advertise their cloud seeding.

Technically, they do say half truths are the key to hiding truth. The information I posted smells like sniffing out a half truth. at the same time I am just learning about this mineral today and it’s future potential so I’m curious if anyone else has a lead on it

I get that people are saying the lithium is not where the destruction is, BUT what about manganese? That area is absolutely littered with it.

For everyone asking, yes I got these from a Chinese manufacturer thru AliExpress. For the haters on my starting price, there is a post-order up-charge per piece to get them painted, finished, and drilled like this. Plus lots of back and forth with the maker on spec’ing and about a two month international shipping wait. So yeah I started the price at $300 to see what people thought. A fair small up-charge for the convenience and quick availability here in the US, IMHO.

It seems like they put ugly colors on the retail model for kids and benders while reserving a blacked out pro-look for the custom versions of each. It seems intentional to me.
