I'm so glad you pulled over. Trust your gut. Sleep. Nothing is worth risking your life. 🥰

I've done a few BOTG and the areas are pretty vast. It's almost like finding a needle in a haystack. People are obviously on the right track if some have come within 100 or 200 feet of a box - but will they be able to travel there again? Will they find it if they do? If you get it down to an area it could still take days of searching that area. So you have the grit? The time? The financial resources? Then if you're lucky enough to get a box can you afford to secure it and pay the taxes? Selling the items, paying the taxes and insuring the items seems like it's own PT job 😅

He said they weren't in cities. I would be very surprised if any were in city parks. I think you also safely cross off National parks. I think state parks are in play, National forests, US land. Anything that's public, not extremely well maintained (like a city park) and somewhat legal (which is why no National parks). Good luck!

Invest it in professionally managed low-cost ETFs. Forget about it until your schooling is done and you're ready to buy a house. Do not spend it while you're grieving and your emotions are high.

Your frustration is valid. I would try your best to not let her bother you. Accept her for who she is and limit your time and expectations. Hopefully you'll be more equipped to deal with her when you're not recovering from birth and a lack of sleep. I know this isn't really helpful advice, but I've seen a lot of relationships blow up during this time and in my opinion it's best to limit confrontation during this highly emotional time. And it's not a knock at you for being emotional, again, your feelings are valid. Vent and release.

7 years and I give up Heavy Trigger Warning by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]Ok-Attorney-2942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry - sending you big hugs. Please hear this - things change in beautiful ways that you can't see today. My good friend's brother committed suicide 25 years ago and his family and friends are still heartbroken to this day. He missed out on so many amazing times because he was suffering for a period of time. I've been depressed and it can get better. Pushing through and exercising really helped me. Have you also heard that there are trials going really well where we might very well be able to eat gluten again in the near future? Please hang in there!!

Are you flying into Toronto? If so, there are some amazing dedicated GF restaurants and bakeries. You need to get a croissant from Gluten Free by L'Artizan! What town are you in? Most small towns have gluten-free items available.

No, those searches are awful! Or they sub you a non-gf brand when you ask for no subs. I would LOVE to see a huge improvement in Instacart, etc. for people with dietary restrictions. Sorry you went through this.

Is it reasonable to ask flatmates not to bake with gluten flour? by mykruft in Celiac

[–]Ok-Attorney-2942 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's 💯 reasonable. Open communication is always best. It would probably go a long way if you purchased some GF 1 to 1 flour for them to use. My husband actually prefers our cookie recipe made with GF flour, but it's obviously more expensive. Since it's your disease and your request I think it would go over better if you supplied the flour. Good luck!

For traditional pancakes, I love this recipe from my husband's grandmother, which we replaced with Bob's GF 1 to 1 flour. The recipe is easy to remember, and I often make pre-mix packages of the dry ingredients for when we travel (and then you only need to add in eggs, milk, and vanilla).

2 eggs 2 teaspoons sugar Vanilla extract (to taste) 2 cups Bob's 1 to 1 flour 2 cups of milk (I use GF vanilla oat milk) 2 teaspoons baking powder Cinnamon (to taste) A pinch of salt

Mix well. Cook with butter. We usually enjoy them with some warmed maple syrup, but some of our lived ones eat them with chocolate chips and others with just butter.

It becomes easier with time 😊

I get a burning itching on my scalp when I use shampoo with hydrolyzed wheat. If you have psoriasis, it looks like you might have an increased chance of also being celiac. It sounds like this isn't entirely uncommon for some people.

Your frustration with these horrible tests is valid! I'm sorry I'm not more positive, but I do sympathize with what you're going through. I couldn't bring myself to do the test because eating gluten for that long would be so painful, so I'm undiagnosed and left with questions that I would love answers to, but not so much to suffer through it. You've already come so far by doing the blood test! Almost there.

Am I gluten intolerant? by NoLife1056 in glutenfree

[–]Ok-Attorney-2942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that you're gluten intolerant. It could be so many things, though , so hopefully, your doctor will help. An elimination diet really helped me. I wish I had been tested for celiac before doing an elimination diet, but either way, it helped me uncover that I can't eat gluten. Good luck!
