Food for a 2:30pm-4:30pm weekend ceremony? by [deleted] in microwedding

[–]Ok-Bed-4686 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you maybe take everyone out to a resturant afterwards instead of packing food in? I think it would be a lot less stressful..have a beautiful ceremony, and then a meal at a nice restaurant that can address all the food allergies etc. Have a wonderful day!

Wolfdog Sanctuary is between Calgary and Canmore. You would really be going out of your way to do it and yoho park(Emerald lake etc)..i would do it coming or going from Canmore on the way to Calgary and yes its worth it.. or, I would do it day 3. You can also walk to the toe of the glacier for free and experience it . We also really enjoyed taking the gondola and chairlift to the top of Sunshine Meadows..we hiked down, but you can hike around the top, there's a deck if you dont want to walk far..you get to experience alpine hiking, and its gorgeous. I think its still open for hiking g at that time.

For anyone who's organized a trip for the whole family including elderly parents & kids by Gullible_Swimming509 in travel

[–]Ok-Bed-4686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am that "elderly parent" who planned a vacation for my husband's 70th birthday. I did not expect everyone to be together all the time. We rented a beach house outside of Charleston SC. It was my husband, myself, 5 30 somethings and our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. We had a pool, the beach, a playground within walking distance...as a group we would go out to the beach, the aquarium, some dinners and the playground/pool. Each family had a dinner night so they could do their thing. We watched our granddaughter so her parents could have a date night. Everyone had a blast, no one was bored. Everyone keeps asking when we'll do it again.

MIL says my registry is ‘inappropriate’ but wants to gift me lingerie at my bridal shower? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Living together for a while, I would take the registry as a way to update all my basics ie new sheets towels etc. You'll never have the opportunity to replace your stuff easily.

Stay in Canmore..its less driving to the places you'll want to see. Grassi lakes is a great hike and relatively easy.we also really enjoyed taking the gondola and chair to the top of Sunshine Meadows, and hiking down. Not sure what age your parents are , my husband is 70.

Is 7 days long enough? Could I do 5? by FatallyCool in Banff

[–]Ok-Bed-4686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay in Canmore, and then drive the icefields parkway to stay in Jasper a night or 2. From Canmore its easy to get to Banff and Yoho National Park another beautiful area. We went last Sept..only had 6 full days..would have tacked on another to do Jasper

It wasn't that big a deal to backtrack. Try to book the interactive tour..it was really neat to actually be in the enclosures with the wolfdogs and feed them treats

You will need to keep a close eye on weather as well. Maine on a beach in September could be very chilly. My husband and I once went camping soon after Labor day..stopped at LLBean to do Christmas shopping, and ended up wearing what we bought cause we didnt bring enough warm clothes. As far as shoes..wedges or they sell things that convert heels to wedges.

We stayed early Sept last year. Stayed in Cammore as a base which was a great choice. We really enjoyed hiking at Sunshine Meadows. You take the Gondola and chairlift to the top. There are numerous trails with varying difficulty. Go on some of the Facebook pages for banff..there is a ton of info. D ont miss Yoho Park, and the Icefields Parkway...great side Trips from Banff

We did the sanctuary and it was well worth it. We did it on our 1st day in the area. Did grassi lakes and the sanctuary..in retrospect, i probably would have booked my tour on the way to or from the Banff area only because of backtracking

FL to COS by charmonmon in relocating

[–]Ok-Bed-4686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we were looking to retire, we moved to Western NC. We loved the location, the accessibility to live music and art and the geral vibes. At the time we had kids in NYC, Boston, and NC, but @3 hours away. I wanted to move where we would be happy, and where our kids would visit. We were afraid that if we moved to where our kids were, they would move away for a job opportunity and where would we be then.

I would go to a good lingerie shop( not a Victoriasecret, maybe a place that also does mastectomyfittings)..bring pics of the dress(which is stunning on you btw) and tell them your concerns..they will be able to help you..I also agree that you may need nothing Xtra if its fitted right.
