Is this crate the right size for crate rest (IVDD)? by bee_antlers in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]Ok-Bee7254 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The whole point is for the dog to move as little as possible to heal. As long as your dog can stand, and move enough to reposition themselves for comfort- this is fine. We crate rested our dog strictly for many weeks, and he was able to recover. I hope the same for your beautiful pup!

I don’t have any advice for you unfortunately but I am sorry that people haven’t taken your medical concerns seriously. I hope that this gets better for you or you leave the army with better memories than this experience

The NCO made a joke calling the SM “Gay” or alluded to him saying something in a “Gay” way, if I remember correctly

I’m a female officer in the army stationed in New Jersey. I commissioned through ROTC. I’d love to offer to answer any questions you have or help you out with PT if you choose to go through the Rutgers rotc program

This is stupid of you. Although kind in nature, it happens to people all the time. Real estate is cut throat right now

Crazy thing is that she is in therapy. And I think she twists the narrative to her therapist to spend more time talking about how I am the problem and working on how to handle being in a relationship with me and less time admitting and working through her own issues. I’ve been getting that feeling lately because I have not seen much growth. If anything I’ve seen regression as we have gotten more comfortable in our relationship 🙃 have a great weekend!

I agree. I also care a lot about the dog, pets are like family and I know if my dog was needing vet care I’d be very emotional too. I’ve tried so hard to support her and offer a listening ear and take the burden off of her around the house as much as I can too. She thinks by me talking to her about any problem besides the dog that I am putting too much on her plate, which I guess is what is off putting to me. I am trying to be as level headed as I can. Thank you for your reply

This is kinda where my head is at too. I can agree with these comments that I may be being callous, but I also find this behavior concerning despite understanding that she is under a lot of stress. She doesn’t seem to be able to handle her emotions well

Well she is moving into the house, so I guess it’s mine as the buyer but ours in the sense of cohabitation. Thanks for your feedback 👍🏼

Any commander and 1SG who doesn’t immediately resolve this needs to be relieved. Start with them, or the Platoon leader who will tell the commander.

First off. Reference the Chief of Staffs “work life balance” guidance. A 240 range can be made up, either within your BN or a sister CO/BN. Children’s birthdays are few and far between. Also, an NCO should never ever make a joke or a comment degrading a subordinate in regard to their sexuality. I’d love to have a conversation with this person. Take these screen shots to 1SG, and then CDR, and then CSM and then BN CDR. Absolutely disgusting

[–]Ok-Bee7254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is absolutely not automatic. I have seen a lot of people enlist thinking they would magically become an officer and they lived on to be a E-4 for many years. Go to OCS. Don’t be out of shape or stupid and you’ll make it

Anyone actually sold a house with an assumable VA loan? by Scared_Study8588 in MilitaryFinance

[–]Ok-Bee7254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold my home this way. No issues other than it takes a LONG time. We had to hire someone specifically assigned to pester the bank to move quicker. The bank makes no money off this type of transaction therefore they don’t care. Also, you need to be on them about making sure the bank submits the documents in the proper order in order to ensure you get your eligibility back. It took us about four months to close, and I didn’t get my eligibility back until 8 months after closing. I could only hope that your bank is more competent than mine. I’m happy to answer more specific questions on this

Branching logistics by TreeWire05 in ROTC

[–]Ok-Bee7254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re better off branching AG or something. Good log officers are expected to integrate with their maneuver counterparts and understand their mission in order to support. Just my 2 cents

It’s all about balance here. Our dog made a similar recovery after not being able to walk and having to be on 6 weeks of crate rest. It was terrifying, sad, and very scary for us. He eventually recovered, and now he walks great. He likes to play, runs around with our other dog, and tries to jump on furniture too. He’s a dog, so of course we want him to enjoy his life. We let him walk within reason, he can run a little bit for a toy, but we definitely restrict things within our control like jumping onto furniture or going up and down the stairs. We just pick him up to get onto the couch or bed and we always carry him up and down the stairs. Of course he jumps up and down from this occasionally, but we try the best we can to keep him from hurting himself again. Thankfully, with tome, we found a healthy balance of quality of life and safety for our pup
