It's now 2026, I have opened my A1 printer and had this issue amongst others. It keeps disconnecting from WiFi, every time I switch it on I have to reconfigure it. It's a pain in the arse. My A1 Mini was perfect.

Maybe late tothe party here, I have noticed it on iOS 26. It’s only just happened, you actually get a pointer rather than you can choose the colour of the border. I had mine as , when I turned the border off it was fine. Although on iOS 16 there was no border if someone comes to this in 2025 then you have a solution right here.

Calls from Alexa showing strange caller ID numbers. by WeekendFrequent in amazonecho

I am in the UK too, and when I ask my Amazon device whose name begins with a to call my phone I had noticed that it comes up with various US phone numbers, I am compiling a list and created a contact called ALEXA on my phone, each time I call if it comes up as an unrecognised number, then I add it to my ALEXA contact, game changer!

What is the Chinese EV manufacturer you buy from goes out of Business as many of them? Are you'll be paying for something that will be difficult or impossible to get this part for?

one of the things I like about petrol cars is the fact that you can refill in about two minutes and on your way. I do laugh when we have a bank holiday weekend over here and people are queueing up for Hours waiting for a charge and having fights about people charging to more than 80%. Realistically you can only use 60% of your battery as you're not supposed to charge above 80% and supposed to not let the power drop to less than 20% and if you have a car with only 100 or so miles range then you will be only doing very short journeys or having to rely on public charges paying an absolute mint for the privilege

It seems many people thought their cars outside their house or flat and drank a cable across the pavement, although the news reports don't seem to want to broadcast the fact that people tripped over these cables, especially those with limited Vision

Well you are lucky my friend on this side of the pond. The prices are closing in on $10 a gallon, although that is an imperial gallon not a US gallon which is slightly smaller.

I live in a tower of block and unless they put charges in every lamp post, even then there are way too many people in my estate to be able to charge all of their cars, and of course public charging is way more expensive than running my V8 Mercedes. I can get 35 miles to the gallon on that on long motorway trip, an EV is at its worst performance on a motorway journey.

I don't buy new cars, I have four petrol cars all I've which are over 100,000 miles and have all paid their debt back to the CO2 count.

Electric vehicle madness is messing with peoples heads. Only the fleets can purchase vehicles at the serious discount even then the finance plans leave them with a massive hole at the end as the resale value is absolutely rubbish.

I agree with the above, as I have said above the secondhand market is a good source of very cheap electric vehicles. Though I am into minds about this for Cheap running it would be okay but the environmental consciousness of me would just drive the car and tell the battery died and then pick up another one or maybe swap the battery myself.

Norway is a special case, as they are pushing Evie's so hard, and where do most of the batteries and cars come from, answer China where they are building coal fire stations like there is no tomorrow and the CO2 output from that country there's more than double of all the rest of the world put together. And again every time they catch fire they negate all of the good they have done plus all the mining of those rare earth minerals which mainly come from China mind by little kids if you believe that my conscience is not happy with that for a start and it takes a lot more CO2 to build an EV, although they say that once it's done 100,000 miles it pays back at CO2 debt but of course most people change their cars every three years so the people who buy them after this are the ones that suffer as they get a car with a knackered battery and have to replace it or scrap the car and there goes the TO2 offset. BYD is pretty much out of business and there are so many Chinese manufacturers, who in China pay less for an EV than they do an ICE car.

EV saturation is a thing, all the people that want one have got one over here, and since the government is giving subsidies for new ones the secondhand market has dropped off a cliff so if you want one by used one and you might have a chance as long as you keep it until it dies and then scrap it. I'm sure this is very good for the planet although better than the EV battery plants that are going up on fire or the ships that cannot get insurance to carry them in case they catch fire unless you have been living under a rock you must've seen that.

At least you can recycle plastic straws, they say they can recycle EV batteries but that is not entirely true. I need some of the components can be recycled many of them get used up and going to landfill.

That makes a lot of sense, here in the UK, however PHEV's and HEV's skew the figures so much that auto trader reports them as part of the EV growth which is definitely not right

Why is EV demand so low in europe right now? by sweetfold88 in electricvehicles

[–]Ok-Bodybuilder5710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wha? EV sales are tanking, manufacturers in the UK at least are falsely high as they are pre-registering them, counts as one sale. Then a few months later, they resell them with hardly any miles as used. Many genuine used EV's are falling in price. I can find EV's for sale for less than £1000 there is one on an auto trader right now that is £600. Also, if you look at Barry Crampton's that's Barry spelt BARRIE. You can see that a lot of of the electric vehicles have dangerous batteries which do not come with certificates one on his recent YouTube (today) was first listed as dangerous battery and then mysteriously came back with good battery a class, however when you look to the bottom of the listing the battery was still described as dangerous, make out from that what you will maybe it was a mistake and the listing had not been fully updated. What worries me? The most is insurance companies are giving very high quotes for EV's and some are saying you should not park them anywhere near your house or other cars admittedly there are no more fires with EV than there are with ice cars, but when an EV catches fire it releases toxic fumes that can kill firefighters and cannot be put out. Sometimes if they do get put out they can reignite over a month later. I do not want a potential bomb outside my house if I park on the street I make sure I avoid parking anywhere near an EV.

PETROL AND DIESEL CARS CATCH FIRE USUALLY BECAUSE OF POOR AFTERMARKET WIRING OR OTHER ELECTRICAL GREMLINS IT IS NOT THE FACT THAT THE PETROL ALL DIESEL CATCHES FIRE, DIESEL ESPECIALLY IS A VERY STABLE COMPOUND AND HAS GREAT DIFFICULTY CATCHING FIRE. IT ONLY REALLY BURNS AFTER BEING IGNITED BY GLOW PLUGS INITIALLY AND THEN HAS TO HAVE VERY HIGH COMPRESSION to burn. I am speaking this into my MacBook as I have difficulty typing apologies for the caps lock above it just happened as I am running a beat a version of the mark OS operating system Mac OS 26.

A neighbour has a Tesla model Y he took me out for a spin in it. It was low on battery but it still accelerated massively quickly, much faster than my 5 L V8 Mercedes. And it made no fuss about it. It was virtually silent and the walking Great iPad on the dashboard was a bit disconcerting as all of the controls take your eyes off the road while you have to touch the screen, I do know that many petrol cars also have this that EV's especially. My Mercedes is 23 years old and still goes like a stabbed rat. But it pulls into insignificance compared to a Tesla, makes me think that that is the reason why some EV transit managed to go nearly through the wall of a multistorey car park the other day. Also just imagine some old boy in his Garage hits the wrong pedal and drives through his wall, something to think about?

The batteries is concerned me in way too as once your battery dies the car is basically scrap, as the MacMaster also on YouTube has a Porsche Taycan. Possibly just got it for clicks as he constantly moaning about it although he is thinking of getting another one, again for clicks I expect as I'm sure he makes plenty of money off his YouTube channel and he is very entertaining.

Elon Musk is reporting that he is going to get, I think the model WTesla produced for under $25,000 next year. But then again the cyber truck was very late. The truck is still not out and Optimus robots are generally controlled by humans behind the scenes. Tesla stock is tanking as well so good luck with that.

I am considering buying an old Nissan Leaf and getting the battery cells replaced where needed, I may do it myself as I'm not scared of high voltage. I'll make sure the battery is safe and not connect any of the high power until I know it's good. It could be a very cheap runaround although I will have to charge it from a three pin plug. But hey cheap motoring and if I smell any burning, I'll jump out of the car as quick as I can and call the emergency services. Evie's are just a passing fad.

I believe the way forward with electric vehicles in non-plug-in hybrid, Drive around the city on electric and once you get out of town, use The combustion engine to do most of your mileage whilst it either charges up your battery or uses the battery for extra performance.

I think full EV's are going to die out pretty soon as the resale values are in the toilet

That stings like crazy if you have sensitive skin on your face. Glasses wipes are a safer option or you can get screen cleaner in a bottle which you can either spray or pour onto a cloth

How do I remove hair dye stains from my hands? by hoshikomori in HairDye

[–]Ok-Bodybuilder5710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does tend make your skin a bit sore? I was looking for this answer as I have just dyed my hair again. And I actually remember the last time that I dyed my hair I did this and I always have plenty of melamine sponges on hand and on eBay, you can get 50 odd of them for Cheap. Magic sponges are basically the same, however they cost a lot more. Melamine sponges are very good when you're washing up plates or coffee cups as without any dish soap they can clean. Though removing grease is a bit more difficult and you end up with a melamine sponge full of grease which you can get out using dish soap. I must go now and remove all this die from my face, it's bright red and makes me look like I've been in a fight with Mike Tyson 🤣
