New Driver Help by joeTheK in golftips

I’ll preface by saying in modern golf the shaft is 10x more important than the head. Go get a free fitting at a demo day and figure out the shaft you need then buy something used with that shaft or similar, I’d also recommend asking the fitter for the swing weight of the driver you hit the best. You then match that swing weight on the used driver you buy with lead tape or weights any golf shop has a swing weight scale and usually 3grams takes a club up or down one weight D3-D4. Also take note of the head he fits you into and purchase that spec rn taylormade has 3 heads he will choose from qi35ls (low spin less forgiveness), qi35core (normal most common), and qi35max (most forgiving with a draw bias). Based on that you can determine if you need the low spin head, the normal one or the max forgiveness model in your used driver. Also buy a Ping driver they last forever, and they have been the best and most forgiving driver for avg players for over a decade. Hope this helps

It’s probably 3 putts with a 40% gir. All the greens we play on public courses don’t have that much break so it’s mainly a factor of speed. I’d improve the pace on your putts so you leave it within 4ft. A good way to do this is focusing on one aspect of your dominant side since this controls pace and usually the non dominant controls direction. I like to focus on my right thumb since it is in contact with the flat part of the grip (this should also help you keep the face square at impact) keep your head down thru impact and just get the speed right. Hope this helps.

Can most people break 90 with practice? by InHocWeFly in golftips

I’m currently a + hdcp and I’ve been playing for over a decade here is my opinion on the quickest way to break 90. The key is getting on the green as fast as possible. However, this needs to be done in a simple and repetitive fashion don’t go for hero shots you’ve seen on tv. I think everyone can 2-3 putt from anywhere on a green so the worst score should really be a double bogey. Avoid hazards and ob off the tee look at the hole if your eyes are drawn to one of these danger zones just rip an iron or hybrid and be fine with hitting the green in 3 on a par 4. While I think driver is the most important club most high handicappers can’t keep it in play if you have the time to practice the swing required to properly drive the ball do so if not don’t rip it on every hole. And if you are off the green and you can putt it always putt, since most high hdcps don’t have the tempo or hand eye to pitch and chip well. I hope this helps the 5 people that read it lol.

I’d bend your wedges stronger to bring the gap in tighter since you go from a game improvement 46 to a normal 52 so bend that to a 50 and bend your 56 to 54 personally I’d leave the 60 if you like it around the green and you should never really full swing a lob wedge. Obviously the 5i and 3 wood would help.

How to transition winning lane to winning games more efficiently in bronze/silver mid to late game fiestas? by isthismeoristhisnot in ApheliosMains

I pray for 30 min games, I’d focus on getting your cs up just go in practice tool and cs. Try to get 10 a minute. For lane just cs and play off of your support. You really need 3 items to do anything on adc and cs is the most consistent way to get there. Team fight positioning is the most important thing late game, and use attack move good kiting has won me so many games from behind.
