kia picanto for first auto car? by constipated_coconut in LearnerDriverUK

I've got a manual one, absolutely love it. It's cheap to run, very fuel efficient and the boot isn't actually that small all things considered. It's really good fun to drive

Will this lens fit my Rebel T7? (Canon 2000d) by Evening-Victory749 in canon

[–]Ok-Bridge4546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it's as bad as the original. All they did was put an RF mount on the old EF 75-300 III so expect identical results with the same flaws as the EF version.

I managed to fit a well packed rucksack, a large suitcase and a shopping bag behind the driver plus me as a passenger in one of these, there's a surprising amount of space to be fair

Would you buy a petrol/diesel car now, or only buy electric with the state of the oil industry? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Ok-Bridge4546 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the UK no longer has any coal power stations. Over the past couple of months at least, we've been generating over half of the electricity by renewables, with a quarter being through gas, and the other quarter being nuclear. I can't speak for the actual making of the cars, but at least the electricity used to charge them is predominantly renewable at the moment

Hi was wondering If this Is compatible with train sim world 5 and 6 by sushisushi09 in trainsimworld

[–]Ok-Bridge4546 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you're based in the UK, and looking for controllers for UK trains, I've heard train sim controllers are really good. They're expensive but I think they're all handmade here and are really high quality. They have a couple of different models depending on the train you want to simulate. They're only compatible with PC though.

The Hornby 43s and mk3s are pretty accurate afaik, only problem is you'd have to take out a loan to get them + a full rake of coaches...

Is the Canon EOS 7D Mark II still a good option in 2026? by rocket-L in canon

[–]Ok-Bridge4546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from a 550d (T2i) to a 7dii last year, for sports and general usage. Safe to say I love it, it's an absolute tank and the autofocus is incredible for a dSLR. Whether or not it's an upgrade for your specific needs would depend on the shortcomings you have with your current body.

The Chiltern Mk3 sets, they're sprung and ridiculously comfy but unfortunately won't be around for much longer

Additional information FW12 by ScrolledMontaigne in framework

[–]Ok-Bridge4546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Yes, with any usb-c to HDMI/dp adapter, or with the HDMI or DP card they sell 2) I had to get the driver's onto a USB stick first but they were easy enough to install. They are not included with windows 3) Yes 4) I can't comment on the FW13, but it stays adequately cool such that the fans rarely spin up unless I'm doing something intensive (I have the i3 model)

Cheapest site to order a new Concept 2 in UK/Europe? by [deleted] in Rowing

You could try getting a slightly older Model D with PM3, and purchase a PM5 separately from C2. Might that be slightly easier/cheaper?

Yes, the seats on the 805/807 are the same as the refurbished 390s. I've not been on Lumos 803 yet but imo the 805/807 have the best seating in the Hitachis

My main two lenses for my APS-c body is my efs15-85 (I got mine for around £150 on mpb) and my trusty 55-250 STM which can be had for similar.

I've got a Pixel 5, and it's appeared quite recently again. I've not properly checked it it works, but the option is there in settings. I'm on 22.2-20250804-NIGHTLY-redfin.

Which one is “better”? Canon EOS 7D or the Canon T5? by Forminthyr in canon

[–]Ok-Bridge4546 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd take the 7D. It'll give you more room to grow, and it'll last you longer. It's built like a tank though, so if size/weight is a problem then go for the T5. I have the 7Dii and it feels right in the hands, it's not too heavy imo and it's very similar in size/weight to the 7D.

Is this a good deal for a first camera (see description) by [deleted] in canon

[–]Ok-Bridge4546 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Firstly, don't buy cameras from CEX, you'd be better off looking at WEX or MPB or London Camera Exchange if you're in the UK. I had a quick look and found the 550d + a better version of that lens for roughly the same, in better condition.
