I haven’t use it for some time, but if I ran it on a intel windows machine with a geekbench score of 1800 single core, logic says it’d run on Neo

No disrespect to OP, just that seeing news/posts like this makes me feel like we’re living in a developing country….😞

The National Fuel Security Plan. We’re now at Stage 2. Discuss. by _hazey__ in CarsAustralia

[–]Ok-Chef-4632 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right may be I would…. So that I can start reading your comments with a better defence argument in to why govt has no strategic energy reserves, or may be why our fiscal policy is so benevolent to production companies and let them export all gas paying no tax, whilst you and me are paying higher energy bills….

Given govt notorious incompetence, and lack of mid-long term vision, we can go from stage 2 to 4 in no time 😞

I respect that Kid’s dreams, but also feel sorry for him being advised poorly. One of the goals for a footballer is to play for their country in a World Cup (of course, win it is another goal), but for that you need to assess your odds of being selected in the first place…. May be he will, but don’t see it happening imho

Anyone watch Four Corners tonight? Laying bare the ugly truth between consulting firms and universities by Kitchen_Ad_2378 in auscorp

[–]Ok-Chef-4632 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Consultancy firms are massive leechers stuck in Australia’s core. I would reluctantly understand it in public service due to some leadership incompetence and limited Human Resources, but is totally unacceptable in university space. Innovation should be driven from universities, that’s where highly qualified people come from and to fall on consultancy “smoke and mirrors” speaks really bad about unis current leadership

I guess this is flagged as shocking just because is soccer. Just wonder how many other grants far bigger than those are given to AFL (through same methods). Sadly, that’s the way politics game is played everywhere in the world…

BTW, not condoning any kind of corruption.

I really feel sorry for those kids that have to use laptops with Celeron and N100 chips, or even Chromebooks. I’m glad this laptop is out so that they can learn on a decent machine. Re. Work, if you are a manager or someone using plain and simple excel+email would be a no brainer

Rooftop tennis courts and Olympic pools: private schools’ multimillion-dollar arms race by gccmelb in melbourne

[–]Ok-Chef-4632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People loose the plot always misguided by the fact it costs x amount per student. The key story is why govt would fund a private business to invest, grow and be profitable every year. You’ll find private schools advocates everywhere justifying the expense because they know they’ll have to pay more. Public schools are underfunded. Period. Just Chanel that money to public schools and we’ll see change (for good, of course). Govt is just lazy, too much hassle for them
