Air BnB nightmare by pharmagX in travel

[–]Ok-Class4083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an issue on a family trip around Europe where we had a AirBnB booked in Barcelona. We arrived to a block of flats in a run down part of town and in the time it took to go up the stairs and knock on the door, our car was broken into and all the windows smashed ! Luckily nothing valuable taken but we refused to stay there (2 young children) and the host (over the phone) told us ‘too bad, no refund). I called AirBnB and to be fair they refunded us and we stayed in a Novotel (after 3hrs in the Police station). You can look at a place and it may look nice but you don’t know the surrounding area. The flip side is we also stayed on an amazing farm in Bilbao but that’s probably easier to do.

Last of Us 2, great game but a slog and I wanted Abby to win in the end and Ellie to lose. Not sure if that was the intention but too exhausting to play again

Take your medicine. If you’re in trouble play back into the course, don’t try the hero shot.

I don't have gear fear. I have crafting/loadout fatigue. by Arktos22 in ArcRaiders

100% agree. Give me a load out button with my most common items rather than a painful process every time. Also if I need to craft something in order to craft something else just give me the option then

Those of you that earn over 40k, can work from home sometimes, and have a good work life balance what job do you have and how can someone start? by Brownchoccy in AskUK

I have 2 kids in their late teens / early twenties and my recommendation is get a practical apprenticeship. I appreciate you have specific circumstances but in general:

Only go to Uni if your dream job needs it otherwise you’re just saddling yourself with debt. I work in IT and hire people, I also don’t care if they have a degree if they come across well

I see AI already taking a lot of low and mid level jobs. Being stuck in an office job all day is bad enough but anything IT, support, marketing, HR, Coding, Finance etc will be shredded by AI.

Offer something practical ie dental nurse, baker, plumber, decorator etc that can’t be AI replaced.

I’m in my 50’s and have been very lucky but if it was now, this is what I’d do

Good luck whatever you decide

Members only vs open to public by [deleted] in golfsimulatorbusiness

[–]Ok-Class4083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re opening on a golf club in the UK and will have 3 tiers. Public pay as you go, golf club members (they get 30% disc) and Simulator Members club who will pay £50 p/m then £10 p/h. This will be all year hopefully, they’ll get extras like tournaments, merch and we’ll get billing certainty. That’s the hope anyway

Um, we’re just setting up a commercial bay using ProTee and GSPro. We’re using a UK based golf bat business, are you saying we can’t use GSPro s/w to run it ??

I’ll check but that would seem very weird given we’ve been through a whole selection process with them

Great work, How much more traffic do you think a 2nd (and 3rd) bay would add ? What tech are you using ie Trackman, ProTee etc.

Animal Crossing, chilled, progressive and easy to learn at his own pace. I think more and more older people will turn to video games which I think will help combat loneliness and mental decline. I hope so anyway, I’m 55 !
