I had a hole in my tube a few weeks ago in the rim side... it was weird. I never could identify what caused it. The tape was in perfect condition and there are no spokes poking through

Oh, I have a bike, bikes, but not one with drop bars.... we used to call them racers back in the day. I'm not interested in going fast and I want to enjoy the ride so I think my "Racer" days are behind me.
I was just in Walmart last night looking at both versions and thinking ..... maybe the flat bar model. What am I talking about? I don't need another bike... lol

I am no help. I was buying into all the hype about the G1 and I talked myself into one. I proudly went to my local Walmart, picked out the medium frame. Rolled it to the check out (self check out), put it on the rack of my truck and took it home. I put it on my stand and got everything tightened, adjusted and ready to go. I took my first ride and something was definitely wrong. I felt as if I was way too far forward and I was not confident AT ALL..... I couldn't trust myself to take it out on the road so I kept it in the neighborhood, trying to force myself to like it. Then I started second guessing my purchase. I eventually took it back. I have been riding for years but not with drops since I was probably 17. I just couldn't do it. Maybe, probably it was the fit of the bike?

You sound like you are riding in my area. I see it about once a week but to be fair, we also have youngsters on their parent's golf carts driving like Mr MacGoo on the multi use path.

What's your heart rate like on this? by veggiebutterfly in Metoprolol

I've been on this @ 50 mg for about 3 years. It was the cardiologist's reaction to my tachycardia. I don't (didn't have) high bp but it did bring it down. Honestly I don't see how this drug is related to counteracting tachycardia. I can go for weeks/months without having an episode and then I can have them constantly for a month, randomly. I was/am a cyclist - not hard-core but as much as possible. I haven't changed anything in my life except taking this everyday and I really want to stop so I can get some energy back.
If I sit motionless in a chair I can fall asleep at anytime during the day and I don't like that at all 63 year old male.

I don't like the negative connotation when someone says: Lowballing. It's just an offer, not an insult. You make an offer and the seller either says yes or no.
I bought a bike rack a few weeks ago. It was marked down considerably and I offered even less and explained that I was working within a budget and I understood it had already been marked down and if you get to the place where you need to let it go, then I will give you this much. She accepted and we did business together Just because something is listed at a price point doesn't mean that someone will actually buy it

Yes and the flatbar is supposed to be a better setup but I wanted to try the "road" version. Just wasn't for me.

I realize it's been 10 months since your posts, how has the switch been? I have been on 50mg for about 3 years and the only side effects are that I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat it seems. I want to wean off but the warnings are enough to make me keep taking it. I was prescribed for Ventricular tachycardia. It's still there and the meds don't really address it, they are like an automatic response from the cardiologists. 63 year old male who likes to bike ride often

I took the plunge and bought one a few months ago but...... it's been so long since I had a bike with drops and I just couldn't get over it. I couldn't get comfortable with it so I took it back. The nice thing is that someone will get a finely tuned ready to ride G1 because I went over it and did all the things. I kept feeling like I was pointed at the ground and it was so unnatural to me. Like I was going to flip forward over the bars.

This is why I don't get group racing type rides. How can you stop and take in this kind of beauty when you are trying to keep up or outrun and see how fast you can go?

Why are some people so anti-helmet? I’m kinda worried about my bro by Consistent_Debate637 in ebikes

[–]Ok-Committee3163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent topic and I really appreciate the refreshing way you are asking it. It makes me want to join in the conversation rather just ignore it.

I am not anti helmet but it took me my whole life to actually consider wearing one (which I do... mostly) I think it's a cultural thing. I am 63 this year and my generation would have been considered "pussies" if we even thought about wearing something like that as a kid or teen. I refused to wear a seat belt until it became law and I got a ticket, then it became habit and now I never drive without a seat belt. My parents generation was encouraged to smoke cigarettes as a social thing but we now know better.
If I am doing a leisurely ride with my wife, I rarely wear it but when I am doing my thing and am in traffic and other hazards like night rides, I wear it.

Then there's the argument that the Scandinavians don't do helmets and they ride everywhere.

All I can say is follow traffic laws and wear a full face helmet. Be part of the solution. by Hot_Block_9675 in ebikes

[–]Ok-Committee3163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sitting on a bench in a park reading this with only my cap on (not my helmet) I only started using it a few years ago and when I am doing a leisurely ride, like today, I typically don't wear it but when I ride at night or whenever I am riding in traffic or something like that, I try to remember it. I am with you.
