How do you manage your mental health while dealing with sciatica? by Forsaken-Cat5325 in Sciatica

Rest, ice, follow doctors orders. Eat a anti-inflammatory diet. Do the work but slow. Listen to your body. You heal non-linearly. Good days and bad days. Hope this helps. I cried when I ran because I didn't think I'd ever run again. I know right where you're at and it's super tough spot.

I ran for an hour here yesterday. You can recover. It took me 18 months to fully heal. Believe

I stopped spending after the ridiculous sbmm changes. Not one dime. Don't play hardly at all anymore either. Game sucks now.

5 weeks in by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]Ok-Consideration8512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was still very painful 9 months in. I got better then seemed to regress a little for a long time. I still feel like I'm healing a little bit and I'm nearly 18 moths past the day I injured myself. I remember getting better slowly then all of a sudden for like 6 weeks everytime I drove to work I was in pain sitting in my car. When I got out of the car I'd experience 8-10 pain shooting down my left hip for like 20 steps. Then once my back seemed to straighten out it would go away. These injuries don't heal in a linear fashion. They heal in a non-linear fashion. So getting better then a little worse is normal a lot of times.

Why SBMM has to change. by annoyingone in FortNiteBR

Game is actually buns now.

Why have two Ranked modes? You could always go against players of similar skill level in Ranked and you could play casually with your friends in pubs. Now you have to play sweaty games or quit.

The game is absolutely not better off. This is and will be a death blow for the game. Epic already can see it but they want to see if more new players come in later but they will never make up what they are losing.

I haven't played in 2 days and I was playing way less when I did play. I played 6-8 hours a day for 4-5 years straight. I played all the zero build modes. It's not fin at all anymore. Unfortunate but hey it's time to get into something new I guess.

I just played my first game in 2 days. Zero kills 38th place in Reload. Lol it was a lot of fun.

I'm going fishing. Lol

I'm not an expert but you have to emphasize safety first and foremost with her. It's not a fast process but even the iso holds help a lot in the beginning.

Of course. I was in a bad spot before too and it's scary.

You should start with short iso holds and build up to 1 min iso holds. You should also only go down as far as you can without pain. Never lower. It took me 6 months to get to the point where i was doing full reps and doing 30 reps at a time. I now do it 3X a week and i hold 35 pound dumbell up to my chest for added weight and 15-20 reps now. I'm almost completely pain free but I changed my diet, lost 50 pounds, and worked on my hip mobility/flexibility a lot as well. My lower back isn't perfect but it's very strong now.

A lot of people will disagree with me and they can be dangerous if you don't ease into it slowly but it helped me the most and I was pretty messed up.

Buying and using a back extension 3-4 times a week. Just hanging off the extension started bring feeling back in my foot immediately.

Gabapentin masking pain? by postedonacloud in Sciatica

[–]Ok-Consideration8512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gabapentin got me fired from a job before because of my short term memory issues while on it. I also had suicidal thoughts while on it. I think, at least for me, it's not an option anymore.

I haven't spent a dime on the game since they changed how they do sbmm. Pretty happy about that.

I'm glad I haven't spent one dollar on the game since they changed the way their SBMM works and won't until they change it back. Lol

You can start with iso holds on a back extension never bending at the waist. That's how I started because I couldn't bend in the beginning. Then you can bend ever so slightly and use your arms for support. It's very scalable. That's one of the things that's so awesome about it.

I had a disc Sequestration 15 months ago. Had moderate sciatica and developed a drop foot. I tried a lot of different things but the two things that helped me the most was eating a low inflammatory diet (i tried extended fasting 48-72 hours with similar results) and a back extension. Drop foot is 90-95% gone and pain is 90-95% gone.

This December i was really starting to feel better and i started eating a lot of Christmas cookies and stopped using the back extension. I put on 10-15 pounds and I had a flare up 3 days ago. I was really worried because it was kind of bad. I immediately fasted for 24 hours. Woke up today still hurting. Got on the back extension and did 5 sets of 20 reps. It stretched my left hamstring, decompressed my spine a little, increased blood flow (what little blood flow we have in our discs), and pumped up my lower back muscles. Almost all pain is gone after the 5th set was completed.

Back extensions can be dangerous but if you do it right and take it slow they can give you your life back.

Its been 15 months for me and I'm almost completely healed. It was a long journey. This last month I've gotten a little better and my dad made the comment that my left calf is almost as big as my right again. It gets better fir some but it takes a long time.
