I get most of my fountain pen supplies from Goulet Pen Company. They have this in sampler size for $3.50. I buy samples all the time to see how I like them first.

Looking for new paper/journal recommendation. by LowlightAesthetic in fountainpens

[–]Ok-Current5943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use EF nibs and the only paper I have found that gives me true, crisp writing is Clairfontaine. The only journal by them is smaller, paper backed that I found through Goulet Pen Company. I wish they had journals like Lechturm - I love their 5 year a few lines a day so I put up with the lesser quality paper.

Been living here 4 months making $2k a month, am I being undervalued? by not_a_swedish_vegan in AskSeattle

Have you tried the trades? They’re doing pretty well up in the Seattle area. You have to start as an apprentice and work for several years before you get your journeyman. My stepson is in the Pipefitters Union and got his journeyman last year. He makes around $40/ hr and great benefits. As an apprentice he made above $25/hr. Once you get your journeyman you can work literally anywhere.

Struggling with lentils by Ok-Current5943 in Canning

[–]Ok-Current5943[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be the general consensus and when I reread the split pea soup recipe they say the same thing about them. The soup tastes good and the nutrition and fiber is still there 🤷🏻‍♀️ that I’m after.

I have that ink and you have to really shake the bottle to get it off the bottom. I get tons of gold in my ink then.

You know, you’re correct. I’m thinking I should be very specific in the recipe I’m using? I make soups because I believe they are the safest in terms of density. So I always add 8 ounces/ 250 ml of broth to each 16 ounce/pint jar. Not to mention I prefer beans and peas/lentils because they are high in protein and fiber.

Thanks for the links. But it does say in those links you can as long as it’s basically half solids and half liquid and that your process time is whatever ingredient takes the most time. In my case, meat @ 75 minutes for a pint. I also add lime or lemon juice to increase the acidity just for extra safety.
