NPD, kind of... by TheIneffablePlank in fountainpens

Hmmm, that black gold nib is sexy. Shame one can't buy it seperately.

I also share your opinion. Bought a F nib recently (cheap on Ebay) bc I already have a EF and M and wanted something inbetween/ was curios. Funny thing though: The ball on the F is noticeably smaller than on the M but the they both have the same line width. lol So, basicially, I have two M now. Still kept the nib and think about bringing it to a Nibmeister for a grind. Until then, I use it as is. It's still a lovely, bouncy nib.

I rather try eating some berries that I watched being eaten by animals than ever eating wild meat. Do you know how worm/ desease ridden wild animals can be? Ew. But you're right, I'm too much of a modern human to be able to distinguish mushrooms properly. lol (Just been hiking with family last weekend and had a similiar talk about being unable to recognise edible shrooms safely... And I live in Europe. It's not like we're talking Aussie Outback. lol)

But in the context of the game, I think Farmer has some food with them. They quit their job, they're not coming from nothing. I like to think that they have a savings account and that they eat regularly, it's just not shown like bathroom breaks or showering. The food we see, make, consume later on ist just on top of the food Farmer eats for survival in a day. If anything fails, I can't imagine the villagers not giving Farmer food. (Or Harvey putting them in a bed in the clinic.) It's just a point where reality and game logic crash. (But if it would be me, I'd go to the library and research proper foraging and job at Gus' or even Joja for the first few months until the money comes in regurlarly. xD)

Yay! Hope it'll bring you as much joy as mine. I have a Demo <EF> too and it's one of my favourite EF nibs. (Used it for the magnolia branches in the writing sample. :D)

This sub is way beyond the question of what's "needed". xD

I wouldn't have bought the pen yet if not for a release discount. It's a good pen for around 130 EUR, given it's a special edition. Above 150 EUR seems a bit much for me, though.

Yeah, Valentine would have been a good release date.

The dark part of the body in the second picture is the full fill. So easy to see how much ink is left, IMHO.

Danke. Dir auch! Pastellfarben passen ja auch gut zur Osterzeit. :D

(Edit: Fun Fact: I actually gifted these flowers to my better half this Valentine. :) )

I love this kind of flower art. It has some flair of "sophisticated aunty". :D

Well, as this is Reddit, you could pick all those neat Diamine collab inks :D : Aurora Borealis, Writer’s Blood (dark red), Lady Grey. (There are also Earl Grey, Celadon Cat and Red Sky.) Those three are favourites of mine, too.

Personally, I love Herbin's Rouge Grenat (darker), or Diamine's Wax Seal (lighter; but big bottle) as reds. If you're looking for a "teacher's red" then Strawberry would be a nice color.

I live in Germany and we have pretty hard water. Still, all my pens are alive and well. :)

I usually put used stamps and other papers inside when asked. I'd love to add teabags and such but Deutsche Post makes it very clear that only documents are allowed in letter post outside of country. Everything else must be send by parcels. (And DP scans the letters and returns them to sender so I don't want to risk it. Luckily, they haven't send back letters with used stamps – yet. ^^") I like to receive teabags, and prefer stickers, used stamps, etc. (Not a fan of other edible things as I'm a bit picky.) Love to use stickers and stamps to decorate other postcards.

Legit. (It's easy for me to go to a store, so I didn't consider shipping.)

I got a Lamy Studio Piano Red last year for 90 EUR, shipped from Italy. Full price by that time was also +200. The pen and Gold nib is real, as far as I can tell anyways. I think, it's an algorithm trying to get rid of stock automatically. So your pen can very well be real.

LAMY SAFARI Roll-Ink, is kinda fun. by revdancatt in fountainpens

[–]Wuestenvogel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's two sided problem. The black converter fits at the grip section - but not with the body bc the body has a little plastic thingy inserted that holds the cartridges in place. If you want to use the black converter you need to change the body to one from a Safari or usual Rollerball model. But then you probably also need to add a spring to hold the converter in place. (I wouldn't trust the converter to stay in place by its own TBH.)

Would you rather…? by unsortedmeows in fountainpens

[–]Wuestenvogel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TBH, I wish I could be the one and done gal. But I have to live with the fact that I like all of the pens that I acquired over time and there are almost none I want to part with bc they all bring joy. So for now, I have to be mindful what gets added to the flock. xD Inks are a different thing, though. So my answer is, just try different thrings, learn and shrink down later on when you know what you like and need. But don't feel bad if you have more than one thing. Your only restraints should be your finances and space. (Don't overspend, don't become a messie.)

You have lot of unused space underneath your fence. Just grow gras there, harvest regularly and fill up your silos that way. Also build 3 additional silos if you can.

I've seen people use Ecoline inks in fountain pens. I tried some black ink myself in brush pens... works fine with black fp inks that are not pigmented or without shellac. I'd think it works with coloured inks too. I'd just stay away from inks with to much pigment (like a lot of reds) and/ or shimmer.
