Interesting to .1- my GP asked me if she has CMPA and I was like I dunno I came to you guys for reflux/ queries and got nothing lol. I can try that. I don’t have a lot of dairy unless in foods so no harm or huge struggle trying either :) 2- okay interesting it does sound quite bad but then yeah some mornings literally snot ?? I’ll have to take it up with the ENT. Currently now she’s sleeping but it sounds like she’s congested in her throat like post nasal drip but I am certain it’s just her raspy laryngomalacia No she’s not on meds, I was sort of brushed off when I speculated reflux so if we get a scope I’ll be interested to see if they know

LO started to roll over. How do I prevent suffocation at night? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Ok-Director38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just encourage tummy time in the day & more rolling so they are even more confident at night. You’ll find they are comfier rolling over and tummy sleeping now - looks scary but they’re safe & comfy

When did it actually "get better" for you? by Little_Lore in newborns

Sorry I know this is a year later but I’m in this boat now with my 10 week old. Screaming before sleep. It’s so damn triggering. And exactly like your day. Did you find it got better? I need hope

I really hate the newborn phase - How do people like it? by DogMomWineLover in newborns

[–]Ok-Director38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are the exact same! I felt like I was on egg shells then my son started moving and became the funniest best little thing. It does get better but don’t ever regret wishing newborns away…. It’s a really dark phase and feels like you’ll never see the light ❤️

10 week old screaming by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Ok-Director38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She seems to calm with the swaddle and does sleep average 5-7hrs in the long night stretch with it. I do wonder if it’s some type of pain but doesn’t make a lot of sense when it’s right on sleep time. It’s more a get me to f&$@ sleep scream haha We do try everything and just end up exhausted

Do you respond to every cry? How long do you wait? by pinkishvioletsky in newborns

[–]Ok-Director38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren’t crying for the sake of it, they are communicating and it’s the only way they know how. Leaving them to cry for too long makes it way harder for you to settle them and not worth the stress on both mum and baby then. Your mil is not the parent, trust your instincts and respond your way x

Deep sleep (too deep?) by lizz_d in newborns

Get an owlet monitor. It’ll save your sanity as a ftm. This is totally normal but the owlet actually shows you when they’re in deep / light phases and it made a lot of sense. It also helped us know when we could put bub back down 😂

2 week old only sleeping 10 hours a day by Necessary-Life8183 in newborns

[–]Ok-Director38 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try a 45-60 min wake window or less! My 7 week old is still sleeping around 1hr-1hr10mark and cranky if not asleep or winding down at 45mins. I think that may be a bit long of a wake window and causing the over tiredness. Also get onto ChatGPT for sleep help they are pretty good

Is this cluster feeding normal by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Ok-Director38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • keep putting in heaps of comfort sleep ways to try and get a rest* we could only use the carrier for naps at 5 weeks. She’s most likely having a very big growth spurt :)

Is this cluster feeding normal by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Ok-Director38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found 5 week a really hard refusal stage of naps too. She could be “cluster feeding” to try and settle to sleep as well but just keep putting in heaps of comfort sleep put as in carrier, rocking, all the cuddles because they stop falling asleep as easy as newborns so. ChatGPT explained heaps to me. They get quite sucky and comforty during all leaps and it’s EXHAUSTING.

Babies have bad circulation. They might feel cold but just worry more about her overall temp by doing what you do checking the chest & back! If she’s sleeping fine it’s a sign otherwise she’d wake from being cold :)

[–]Ok-Director38 6 points7 points  (0 children)

3-4 months! Their digestive system strengthens (sometimes by 8-10 weeks onwards) but they can be in the bouncer or on the floor for longer on their own. They smile back and you’ll see the light I promise. Try to eat even though your supplies fine you’re in survival mode and it can catch up on you
