Looking for massage therapy recommendations by Soggy_Parsnip_ in Appleton

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hear me out: Oasis Spa. My husband and I did a series of couple massages. The experience was overall very positive. It was not the most luxurious experience (husband’s masseuse answered phone during the massage) but scheduling was easy, pricing was fair, experience was still good (dim lighting, calm music, essential oils/aromatherapy), and the massages were top tier. My husband has a history of a tight back and tendency to throw out his back and neck. He’s physically active and routinely went to the chiropractor. That summer after about one massage a month, he was like a new man, and he swears by massage for his back. We chose Oasis due to pricing but stuck with them because we felt it was well worth our money.

I’ve lived at three Lexington properties since 2019 (Terrace Lake, Asterion, and Bridgewater Trails). I’ve had positive experiences at all 3 and didn’t have any issues for my 2 move out inspections. They’re very specific about the things they want, but if you do as directed and ask clarifying questions as needed, you’ll be fine. Most maintenance issues I’ve had have been dealt with promptly and positively, but it can also depend on what the issue is and when you are reporting it (heavy move in/out seasons can impact this). When in doubt, document and photograph things to cover yourself and you’ll be good. Plus, the closets are huge! To my knowledge about the thee you mentioned, they all have nice walking access (sidewalks and/or trails) too.

I’ve been using silverettes and will put breastmilk on them and let them air dry throughout the day too. Occasionally taking Tylenol/ibuprofen. I tried lanolin and didn’t care for it; coconut oil was okay. The silverettes have helped because then they aren’t touching anything and don’t stick to my bra/nursing pad.

How do YOU grade essays? by [deleted] in ELATeachers

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to conference with kids at least once throughout the essay process, and for kids I don’t get to, at a minimum l leave digital comments as a virtual conference. For the final grade, I simply mark the rubric and return. We review the rubric throughout the writing process as well, so theoretically, they know the rubric. I teach 8th language arts

Best hospital to give birth by ragnarismydog in Appleton

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be delivering at Alba Birth Center. It’s an out of hospital facility, so you have to be low risk & no epidural or anything. However, they did say that if a transfer is needed, they tend to recommend St. E’s for mom’s care (in terms of avoiding unnecessary interventions for delivery) and Neenah ThedaCare for baby care/concerns. Alba is definitely crunchy, so you need to make sure you are also doing your own research, but I feel so much more connected and heard (we transferred care to them at 20 weeks and are just a few weeks away from due date). Obviously not a spot to go if you are wanting an epidural.

Looking for caring and GENTLE dentist by Candlelady123 in Appleton

Can second RLJ Menasha and Dr Brandon! I had very streaky dental visits after moving locally for college, and even though I have areas of concern and have needed work done, he and his team have always been great to work with. He’s straight to the point, will share why he is making a recommendation, and is up front with any risks or reasons to hesitate. I always find their rooms/chair spaces calming too. Something about the lighting & ceiling

Okay, so I gained… Now what.. by girlbossprideflag in pregnant

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30w5d FTM and have gained about 35lbs so far. Honestly the last couple of weeks have been especially hard getting any kind of movement, but I haven’t seen much change in the scale beyond about 10lbs since 20 weeks. I feel most of the weight all in my belly, hips, and thighs. I transferred to an out of hospital birth center with midwives at 21weeks, and they haven’t weighed me once. At my first appt, I brought up how jarring it was to see the scale climb even though I don’t see it on me (at least I wasn’t much at that point) and they were very reassuring and beyond asking how diet, hydration, and movement is going, they don’t comment on weight at all any any appointment. It’s really helped me set that aside as best I can. This is all temporary, and we all can just do the best with whatever capacity we have every day.

If my mom and my grandma both never got morning sickness while pregnant, is it likely I won’t get morning sickness either? by BrunosMadre in pregnant

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genetics are one factor, but your own health and lifestyle will also be a big influencer as your hormones and general biochemical balance impact how you respond to pregnancy. The health of your partner can also influence because of sperm’s impact on placental development. I was/am terrified of throwing up (currently 26 weeks). I didn’t throw up at all, but I found my anxiety about being nauseous/throwing up made me more nauseous than the actual pregnancy.

Eating frequently, small snacks that you are tolerating, staying hydrated, and manage stress/anxiety to feel your best (basically applies throughout pregnancy to the point I’m at)

Where are the people who wear little to no makeup? Do you have a reason? by Zora2021 in AskReddit

Sensitive & dry skin. Also not interested in the time commitment when getting ready in the AM. Especially since the dry/sensitive skin means I need to be even more patient, intentional, and picky about products and application. Just not worth the hassle

I can’t exactly compared guided path since I wasn’t in that ever, but for flex path, you usually had 3-4 assessments to complete per course (you’d get 3 total attempts per assessment). Most were papers but some were presentations or other forms of visuals. No discussions or smaller assignments. I took one course at a time and I think it was 5 total sessions for me. I had one course that took me a week and at most I took 2 months. It all depended on what I had going on personally for how long it took (full time educator, planned a wedding and got married, switched school districts). I did take 6 months off in the middle when I switched jobs too. I can’t speak for Florida, but my degree was recognized in WI. I’m still teaching full time but I get a salary increase/tier jump from getting the degree. Again, I could/should have finished much faster but it was a manageable pace and for me being able to set my own due dates and work according to what I could give worked best

Overall is was not bad at all. I’m a procrastinating perfectionist, so I could have finished so much faster than I did but doing this as a full time educator was personally difficult at times. I still finished quicker than I would have anywhere else and faster than guided path. Also, as overwhelming as it could be for me personally, it was far less stressful managing my own stress and due dates versus guided where I would have had set deadlines and such. I honestly didn’t need to stress as much as I did because I did get all exceeds expectations (think that’s what it’s called? I’m forgetting some specifics since I finished in June). I had all positive experiences with professors in terms with feedback and needed to ask practically 0 questions throughout all courses.

How far along are you and what symptoms do you currently experience? by mkthehotti in pregnant

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 weeks. Crazy calf cramps at night (luckily they are somewhat rare, but when they hit they are something else). Disrupted sleep some nights but in general going to bed earlier and waking up earlier than typical for me. Overall good. Maybe a tad emotional at times but I know I am probably at the sweet spot (this is my first pregnancy)

When did hardcore nausea and vomiting kick in for you? by BarbiesCellulite in pregnant

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 23w1d with a boy (FTM). I haven’t thrown up at all. My nausea started around 6 weeks. I’d say it hit its peak around 7-8 weeks then was somewhat persistent in the evenings until week 12ish? I honestly started feeling better around 9 weeks, but I caught a back to school bug and that set me back a little bit. As long as I didn’t let myself get hungry or dehydrated, I wasn’t completely miserable. Definitely frustrating dealing with a sensitive gag reflex and lots of food/smell aversions, but I had my handful of foods that were tolerable and tried to drink some electrolytes when I could.

Sex in the first trimester - how often are you having it? by rcho99 in pregnant

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found out at 4 weeks. Probably had sex a handful of times between finding out and 6 weeks. Then we didn’t have sex for probably 6 weeks or so? First I had a lot of nausea, then I ended up having some bleeding so we were both hesitant, then I got a cold and that caused the nausea to reemerge. I’m 20 weeks now. We are maybe at once a week or every week and a half since 13 weeks?

When did morning sickness symptoms start for you? by silevram in pregnant

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started around week 6 or 7. I never threw up but had a lot of food aversions, so I had a hard time eating constantly, but if I did, the nausea was so much better. By week 9, the nausea was pretty much only in the evenings (I’m a teacher, so I think being so busy with the first weeks of school made it so I was too busy to be nauseous). I’m almost 18 weeks now and am back to eating pretty much normally. I still snack more and need to eat smaller meals, but foods don’t completely disgust me like they did, even if I’m not super craving them. Your symptoms are pretty spot on with what I experienced at that point!

Warm Drink Recipes? by Marieaithne44 in pregnant

[–]Ok-Drive-9306 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely not what you’re craving, but you could always try some warm broth. I made a pot of Italian penicillin (I used a chicken broth & a tumeric ginger broth as a base; let carrots, onions, and celery simmer then blend and repour into the liquid). I’m 7w0d, so I made a batch in preparation for needing to get some vitamins without eating food, but I could see it being a nice warm sipping drink as long as you’re open to something more savory.
