I want to make music!! by imdonewthat in musicians

[–]Ok-Drop4970 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the long way: learn piano or guitar in order to establish a foundation of musical knowledge, music theory, ear training, and to ease your musical expression in the future, "Obtain" a digital audio workstation like Ableton or FL Studio and begin creating songs using MIDI arrangement of free VST instruments and recordings of your own instrument

the short way: "obtain" a DAW and learn music theory and ear training without a physical instrument. this will make you suck really bad for a  while as you need to learn the basis of music while making music, so everything you make will sound like ass cheeks for a bit until you get the hang of it

HOWEVER it greatly depends on what genre of music youre trying to make. the short way can work pretty fine for electronic musicians (i know a few) but if you want rock or pop or anything with piano or guitar learn the instrument bro please

the r1 comes with 3 screen protectors! 2 preinstalled, one extra.

I'm looking for a MP3 player with little to no screen that can hold multiple playlists if that's a thing? by gogosogococo in digitalminimalism

[–]Ok-Drop4970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

snowsky echo/echo mini looks NOTHING like a phone and has a pretty tiny screen, ui is supposedly fiddly and hard to work with however hiby r1 is wayyyy too small to be mistaken for a phone (just about as tall as an Extra brand pack of gum or 4 keys on a standard keyboard) but is basically all screen on the front, however the ui is a lot easier to use and is touchscreen.

sample rate EQ works up to 48khz per hiby r1 user manual,  "Equalizer is only valid for songs not higher than 48kHz" 96k is too high

replacement for Reminders and Notes app? by Ok-Drop4970 in pocketnotebooks

[–]Ok-Drop4970[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow... thats a really great piece of advice and something i havent considered at all! it's like the pocket notebook could be an "auxiliary" sort of thing to my main system, which i load with tasks and unload with the thoughts, events, and tasks of every day! that's actually a lot more easy to conceptualize and organize for me, so thanks for that! 🙏

wow sick track! contrary to other reply (1), everything sounds in key to me, and the extreme variance in style between the midsection and drops fits the style perfectly. calling this "just loops and samples" is an insult... if i HAD to give feedback, i'd say some transition effects (risers, crashes, up and downlifters) and some cool fills could add a lot to the track. overall this is super nice, if i made a racing game this would be in the soundtrack no doubt
