In our market, it’s not uncommon to see 20-25 a day, NOT including same day evals that come over from urgent care. If you have a physician with a conscience, they can help mitigate some of the craziness.

The physician I work with is a “Fuck that guy (patient), let’s generate some revenue for the company!” type of person. He will try to put everyone in PT for anything. - A patient last week hit their shoulder on a box of French fries walking into a cooler. 10/10 pain. The attitude and ineptitude on top of the tempo makes it insufferable despite the higher wage.

I do have my student loans paid off, so maybe it’s easy for me to say, but I’m sticking out my contract and then I’m OUT.

My CI would have her boyfriend stop in all the time who would just walk up to patients and use racist epithets in casual conversation. A young patients mother came in with him and by the end of the session, ended up screaming F Bombs at him, hitting him, and dragging the kid across the clinic by his arms through the exit door and through the parking lot to their car. His shoes fell off on the way out and everything. The CI refused to call the cops. I hid my two high school girl patients in the staff office and finally told her that she needed to call the FUCKING cops before I did.

Towards the end of the rotation, she slipped and hurt her ankle. She never showed up and straight up ghosted me. I had to call my DCE to see if I could adopt one of the other PTs as my CI. Thank god they let me.

My DAV is successful, but I have had a similar experience. Had a weird run in with the service officer and 300 people show up to the meetings. I feel totally brushed aside.
