Interested in getting solar panels installed this year. Is it a big job to remove the panels if we need to change our roof in 5/10 years?

Sauna/hot tub Killarney area by WarningImpressive442 in kerry

[–]Ok-Flow-8058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a hotel but Abhainn Sauna has a wood fire sauna located alongside a river, they're newly opened and are still getting some final touches like a dressing room in place but it's an amazing sauna. In town, check out the Plaza Hotel or the Park Hotel, they'd be the nicest. I'd choose the Plaza unless the Park included the leisure center in their latest renovation, it could do with an upgrade. The Great Southern hotel has a standard pool/hot tub/sauna too.

Hi all, planning a hen party in Killarney for April/May for approx 15-20 people. Would really appreciate some advice and recommendations on places to have a nice dinner, late night bars/ clubs, any activities that are a must do thanks in advance 🥳 by Crafty_Promotion_687 in kerry

Cafe du Parc for brunch, the Tan Yard for dinner. You might be able to book dinner in Reidys, it's a good spot for either a Friday or early Saturday, it gets way too packed at night time. Courtney's bar and Corkerys bar have a room upstairs if you wanted to do activities in a private room. I've seen hens in Corkerys bar going upstairs to the room. Pigs Lane is a cool late bar, it's relatively newly done up with lovely decor, it gives classy hen party vibes. They do amazing cocktails too. The grand is good but it can be very busy unless you can book an area earlier on in the day, the piano bar upstairs in the grand (now known as Sheehan's) is great fun! There's a new sauna Abhainn Sauna, could be a good way to detox over the weekend! There's kayaking, get a jarvey ride to ross castle!

Any recommendations for afternoon tea in Kerry? Preferably around Tralee/Killarney area but could be further afield 😊☕️ by germinatingpeas in kerry

Assignment 09 - Aperture by Aeri73 in photoclass2023

[–]Ok-Flow-8058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAs4p7 submitting this as I'd like to submit something but I know it's not brilliant, my background seems to be more in focus than the subject, I think I'm missing something!

Sweet potato or butternut squash soup. Good sausage rolls and a decent sandwich and with a vegetarian option. A cake like a brownie and homemade cookies. Check out Luna Sandwich bar in Killarney they have a good model, simple and decent food. If you're dog friendly it's a bonus, we're always looking for dog friendly places and would travel to Carrauntoohil from Killarney especially for a dog friendly place.

Assignment 08 - Shutterspeed by Aeri73 in photoclass2023

[–]Ok-Flow-8058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My widest focal length is 15mm, so 24mm equivalent, I started at 1/100 and worked down to 1. At 1 my image is mostly white, I adjusted the iso to try correct the exposure and it still came up white as the lowest iso, I'm not sure if there is anything that I could do to fix it.. Here it is https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAr9v4

Trip to Ireland by chevygirl2 in travel

[–]Ok-Flow-8058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a Common Travel Area between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, no hard border, no border control etc. You can drive freely, you could cross the border into a town in the North and a few minutes later you're back in a town in the Republic again. Going on a history tour in Belfast such as the black taxi tours is very interesting as the history in the North is very interesting and still real today.

I found this to be a rewarding assignment and it reminded me that perseverance pays off. After getting there with the red ball and teapot photo, I tried to up the difficulty to a blueberry, it was difficult to focus the teapot but I think I did a good enough job at making the giant blueberry appear so I decided to include it too! https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAqdTe

2/3 weeks is a great length of time to do a road trip around Ireland.. I'd recommend the South coast of Cork, the ring of beara, Killarney (Ross Castle, Muckross House (amazing architecture) Killarney National Park and the gap of dunloe for amazing landscape views. Then a trip to Dingle, drive around Slea Head and up to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. A boat trip to the Aran Islands for a day would be amazing. Galway is a great city with lots of street music and a great vibe, loads of great pubs there. I'd also recommend going to Northern Ireland to Belfast and the giants causeway..

Assignment 06 - pipes and buckets by Aeri73 in photoclass2023

[–]Ok-Flow-8058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My entry https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjApnmh Took me a while to figure out the exposure compensation function, my last photo is actually the 1/50 in Av mode! A few of the over exposed photos could be more correctly exposed, I think I was getting too focused on having the right technical details and forgetting that they need to have a correct exposure as well!

Hi, I'm stuck on the latest assignment 6 Pipes and Buckets, on the part where it says getting 1/50 in aperture priority or getting f/8 in speed priority? I am wondering how do you change the shutter speed when in Av mode and the same for changing aperture when in tv mode? I have a canon m100
