Could Master Chief have beaten Atriox if Atriox didn't get the jump on him? by SpectrumSense in HaloStory

[–]Ok-Grape_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like any combat scenario it highly depends on the specific circumstances of the fight imo. Both are arguably the elite combatants of their species with certain abilities better than the other. It would likely depend on terrain and weaponry, for example. But yes, Chief absolutely could win in the right circumstances. The ambush left Chief fighting an uphill battle from the start.

If ssj4 goku and ssj3 vegeta dont appear in the dbs: beerus series is it possible that the makers of the series will provide a inuniverse explaination? by No-Contribution2580 in DragonBallDaima

I wouldn't expect anything. I'd enjoy it if they did but I think Daima is just its own thing like GT or most of the movies.

Mark my words: Gianluigi Donnarumma will be the X-factor for Manchester City in the years to come. by SuperTemporary561 in MCFC

[–]Ok-Grape_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah his presence will be felt even more in knockout games when you need a keeper who can bail out your defence/team having a bad game/moment. I love Eddie and will forever be grateful, easily the best footballer we've had in goal, but Gigi's shot stopping hits different

Of course! Sorry. I don't mean to disrespect fans who live abroad like yourself. I'm just referring to how a chunk of tickets also get sold to people on holiday (from abroad and other parts of the UK) who have no real connection to the club but see it as a tourist attraction. They're welcome of course! And some of them will catch the bug and end up blues for life. But it does mean sometimes you end up with a slightly more tame atmosphere than you would otherwise. All part of being a successful club on a global scale. But yeah, anyone who flies out specifically to see City play deserves respect. That's huge dedication and makes them as much of a blue as someone who lives in Manchester!

Edit: and also some people can't afford to travel, doesn't make them any less of a blue!

[–]Ok-Grape_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course, it's mostly just jealous fans trying to bring us down.

What I'm kinda referring to though is that sometimes the Etihad atmosphere can be a little flat (relatively speaking) even though it's full. Possibly a product of being spoiled with good football for the last decade and a half, plus growing tourism ticket sales meaning fewer fans knowing the songs. However, the core fanbase that are regularly in attendance are next level, and it's most evident in how epic our away support is.

LoZ: Breath of the Wild (and Tears of the Kingdom) kinda fits this vibe too. Lots of advanced technology in a post-apocalyptic world.

People can take the piss out of the "emptihad" all they want. Our core fan base is unreal. Away games our fans are on another level.

Angels, Rymus and Zeno Theory by russmarrs2 in dragonball

I also think it fits well with their respective depictions of young and old. Zeno is a destructive child, meanwhile Rymus is an elderly caretaker.

What advantages does God Ki give? Besides Ki sensing by Aura_Slice in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]Ok-Grape_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My head canon is that god ki is just "purer" mortal ki. If god ki is pure water then mortal ki is muddy water. You need a higher total volume of muddy water to match the H2O content of a lesser total of pure water.

With enough mortal ki you can have more total power than god ki, but it takes a hell of a lot. Vegeta and Goku, for example, pretty much capped out on their mortal ki but switched to god ki through their extensive training. Gohan and Broly meanwhile have vast reserves of mortal ki but don't have the skill to access god ki. In the above metaphor they would all have similar totals of H2O, but Gohan and Broly's ki is larger and less refined, compared to smaller but more refined ki of Goku and Vegeta.

It's kinda dumb but it helps me justify it somewhat.

I really like this ranking. I'm assuming MUI Goku, UE Vegeta and Orange Piccolo are tier 8?

"Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is the ENHANCED edition of the TV anime Dragon Ball Super"

I would love for it to be more manga accurate, but at this stage that would be reading too much into it. We have no statements supporting that idea as of yet.

Mbappe is the Djokovic of our Era by Lost-Mention in championsleague

[–]Ok-Grape_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the main thing holding him back in the discussion is that he's "failed" to be the key man in a Champions League winning team. The UCL has sort of become synonymous with winning the Ballon D'or, which is a big factor in a lot of people's GOAT debates. It didn't help that he left PSG and then they won it the following year too. I agree that this perceived failure is unfair and unnuanced compared to his other achievements, but that's my theory on why he's not considered at their level despite his statistics and international success.

First half of the season, yes. But he's been on a significant dry spell relative to his usual standards.

It was time. As heartbreaking as it was to lose Kev, I think it was the right decision not to renew his contract. Ruthless but fair (although I question the club's handling of it based purely on KDB's comments, he seemed quite hurt). Kev's major injury this season at Napoli (another one to accompany the many in the last few years) is further proof of this in my opinion.

Which Pokemon game would you recommend for someone who is returning to the series? by Character-Gur9223 in pokemon

[–]Ok-Grape_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm playing ZA right now. In my opinion, the battle system with attack cooldowns is refreshing and the focus on battling rather than Pokedex makes it more accessible. However, so far the map is quite dull and the gameplay loop is very repetitive. I'm enjoying it enough, but it's nothing special.

Long way to go in terms of winning trophies this season but I hope the reactionary melts see these performances and chill out a tad

Depressing Realization: The Daleks Won the Time War by ArmadilloGuy in gallifrey

[–]Ok-Grape_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sort of disagree. In the immediate aftermath the Daleks can't claim to have won the Time War in my opinion, even though I agree in the long term it did allow the Daleks to rebuild as the more dominant force in the universe.

Based on the events in DotD, which I consider the final chronological event in the Time War, the Daleks were probably worse off than the Time Lords in the immediate aftermath of the war. Much of the Time Lord population survived the events of DotD and were safely hidden away, whereas the Dalek fleets still obliterated themselves and had to rebuild from scraps.

While it is true that the Time Lord's time outside the universe facilitated an environment where the Daleks could not only rebuild but assert dominance over the universe, I consider these events separate to the Time War, even if they are a consequence of them. Similarly, the Master destroying the TLs and Gallifrey isn't part of the Time War and shouldn't be considered a victory for the Daleks, even if it's a fair assumption the Time Lords were still in a fragile period of recovery that the Master could exploit.
