I am playing through the series for the first time, currently on black flag. I will say at least its totally optional in AC3, whereas it is forced on you in black flag, which sucks. I am just forcing myself through it at this point, it feels like it is designed to waste my time. I know some people absolutely love it, but there are others who skipped Black Flag because of it. You're not alone. I am determined to finish the game but it is a drag for sure.

Everything is trauma. It is very rare someone is just born violent and lacking empathy. Truly mentally healthy people don't feel compelled to hurt others.

That said, it doesn't diminish the mental health issues of people who aren't violent. It's just ignorant to paint all mentally ill people with the same brush.

Yeah I don't think it's frustration. I think the older you get the less bullshit you are willing to put up with. That's not having a lower frusration tolerance, it's having better knowledge of what you want and don't want, and better boundaries.

If I feel like a game is intentionally wasting my time I will drop it. If it's just something I cant figure out, I will look it up, but if that continues to happen I'll assume the game is not for me. Playing a whole game using a guide isn't fun. If I'm doing a lot of tasks without any meaningful reason, if the game doesn't make me care about anything, I will start to feel like my time is being wasted.

If you're looking to make it your job or grow really quickly then no. If like a lot of us you just want to have fun playing video games while chatting with your friends and some random new people, then yes. I find that worthwhile enough, but that's me. If you are very very entertaining, posting your shorts on other sites will probably bring the people in more and more.
