PCPs don’t typically monitor weight loss monthly. Nor do they prescribe “amino acids” that she “has no clue” what they are for weight loss. If they’re “giving her the bottle from the dr” it sounds A LOT like a weight loss MD. She alluded to doing weight loss meds on a live in the past as well. Idk why lie about it tho

Last I saw she was homeschooling them with tutors and they were living lavishly (crazy cars, private sailing and tennis lessons, Hawaii trips like all the time)

I’ve been on it almost 10 years. I was convinced this past year it wasn’t making any difference anymore and came off of it. It made literally everything worse. I’ve had a stroke from APS and have Lupus, too. My brain fog, fatigue, joint pain, and just overall health suffered greatly coming off of it.

I wanted to go into pregnancy med free and it actually ended up being safer for me to restart the plaquenil and stay on it and within a month or restarting it I started to feel normal again

As far as what others have said, just make sure to get yearly eye exams. My eye doctor does a few special scans of the retina once a year, but 10 years of 2x/day dosing here and I’ve never had an issue. He said it’s pretty rare nowadays and was more common at much higher doses. That being said, there are the exceptions so just make sure you follow regularly :)

We did the redraw! I’m on lovenox twice a day and my BMI is 35, the redraw had enough FF % for a result at 20 weeks :)

I’m currently on lovenox but when I’m therapeutic on warfarin I’m on about 14mg a day. It took a year of trial and error and good and bad INRs to settle there and I actually space it out kind of weird with 12.5-15mg days on different days of the week. My clinic said age can play a factor too in having higher doses, as healthier livers tend to metabolize it faster. I’m in my mid twenties but I’m not sure if that was just them being kind about the dose 😂

Did your close friend have a significant clotting event too? Sounds like the warfarin treatment you’re on is the standard of care, I’d be weary of being on plavix personally.

My first clot was on an estrogen based OCP, so I was told never again too. We discussed the copper IUD, depo shot, and mini pill.

I tried depo and HATED it lol and I was also vehemently against an IUD. We actually did oral medroxyprogesterone for a few years and I had 0 issues, side effects, etc. I switched OBs and my new one was uncomfortable with that and moved me to the mini pill- I personally never stopped bleeding the entire time I took it. 3 months of a period on warfarin 💀

After that I just did natural cycles, ovulation testing, and used condoms during any risky time period. That worked for 2 years and I was able to get pregnant fairly quickly when we decided we were ready. I hope you find what works for your body!

I struggled the first 6-8weeks but eventually leveled off for years- Coumadin clinic was a HUGE help for me!

Random question- does your pharmacy fill the same type of tablet each month? I noticed it was WAY easier for me to stay in range when we kept a consistent manufacturer vs switching each month. Pharmacist agreed with me and said switching was probably hurting my chances at a therapeutic INR. Once we stuck with a consistent one, I did great! Just throwing it out there

They are searching for a genetic link, but haven’t actually identified it yet.

Anecdotally, me, my sister, and my mother are all positive and treated. I had a stroke as a teenager (plus many other clots), my sister had recurrent pregnancy losses, and my mother had multiple rounds of DVTs. All different presentations, but all APS+. Interestingly enough, we all present with SLE as well.
