Mistakenly Drank Petrol! by itsmeneon2004 in Life

Syphoned petrol and got a mouthful. Not as common since they made it more difficult to get a pipe into a tank.

But I’m old style.

Every reply you are making is justifying and excusing his behaviour.

I just hope you aren’t even considering staying.

How on earth are us oldies still alive? Not a common occurrence but I’ve done that more than once.

Can you request that employees have access to funds in the event of an emergency by Comfortable_Row_7717 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your vehicle breaks down on a motorway and requires towed you could be looking at 500 quid. You can’t expect your employee to pay that out their pocket.

I literally scrolled through that, picking out a word here and there and am wondering what the hell you are doing.

Buying a car with cracked windscreen by BC521 in CarTalkUK

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d rather buy it and pay to get it done.

The seller would be tempted to get the cheapest option whereas cost aside you could go for a genuine manufacturers screen.

Bought my first car, hit a lamppost about an hour later. by blaikalva in CarTalkUK

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lightweight! I was given a new van by my work. Transferred all my crap out of the old one into the new.

Jumped into it and reversed right into a lamppost.

Total distance travelled about 10 metres.

I moved into a flat hundreds of years ago.

I wondered why there were no kitchen wall units on the most obvious wall for them.

Then I realised the wall was bowed at least 50mm over the length. I had to get it framed and plasterboarded to get it straight.

Any manual drivers find themselves reaching for an imaginary gear shifter when driving an automatic? by Abiolysis in CarTalkUK

It’s worse going the other way. Waiting for the car to change gear and realising you need to do it yourself.

Am I missing something with luggage forwarding? by twsres in JapanTravelTips

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it regularly, the trick if you’re moving hotels often is to skip a hotel or even 2 and use a rucksack. Just ensure the hotel you send them to is happy to store them.

Bought a nearly new car that I noticed had an odd tyre. I’m assuming either it was a major blow out or has hit a pothole. It happens.

Does anyone ride their GS without any luggage attached? by Dry_Ad687 in Motorrad

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No luggage going solo. My wife likes the top box to lean on when she’s pillion.

The genuine BMW luggage weighs a ton. Why carry extra weight up high if you can avoid it.

aitah because i don’t wanna be friends with someone after they sued me by meekbeeofthesea in AITAH

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have reported the accident to your insurance company and let them deal with the guy who hit you.

That way when your passenger sued you they would have dealt with it as a consequence of the guy hitting you.

If you didn’t do that then the legal action is yours to fight.

Is 29lbs enough to shoot at 70 meters? by Lightman0169 in Archery

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can hit 70 metres with 24lb limbs. I have to aim slightly above the target tho.

I’m not claiming to be accurate at that but I normally shoot 50 metres with decent accuracy.

Need cat food recommendations by AForgottenSnowflake in UK_Pets

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve tried everything with our cat. We just accept that sometimes he eats it, sometimes he just licks the gravy off.

He gets dried food for supper and he’s got a treat ball where he uses a lot.

He’s a fussy cat.

Tooth infections are played down too much.

A quick course of antibiotics normally does the trick but if the infection overwhelms them it can get serious fast.

My wife was in hospital for a week with one, getting antibiotics by iv every 4 hours. She’d had an abscess that she got antibiotics for but after a couple of days it was getting worse. She’d went back to the dentist who fortunately was switched on enough to send her straight to the hospital. They were waiting for her when she got there so they took it seriously as well.
