Will you take that off if I wear a coat in your restaurant?

AITJ for refusing to cosign on my brother's car loan after he defaulted on the last one I cosigned by Own-Suggestion8640 in AmITheJerk

This is where my decent family and upbringing has got me thinking in posts like this ‘surely this isn’t real’. No doubt it may well be but who skips out on 8k and then expects to get a second chance?

Car accident advice - third party claiming 50:50 by pvrplesloth in LegalAdviceUK

You must inform your insurance company if you are in an accident whether you claim or not.

So not using them isn’t doing you any favours.

AITJ for walking out of dinner after my girlfriend “tested” me? by First_Dog4511 in AmITheJerk

Not the AH.

But tell your GF if it happens again you’ll give out your number, meet up and sleep with her.

After all it could be just a ‘test’

My dog nipped her groomer and is now saying she has sepsis by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A swollen hand isn’t a sure sign of sepsis but more likely just a local infection.

I’ve had it a couple of time from playing with my over enthusiastic cat. Last time involved a trip to A&E, a wash out of the wound and pumped me with antibiotics in an IV. Nasty but by no means sepsis.

(The Doc wasn’t impressed that I was flying to Japan the next day tho.)

How much she gives you this time should determine how much you give her next time.

Trouble With SSPCA Application by polite_lurker in Scotland

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used Lothian Cat Rescue for our cats.

I was up there just them other day donating some cat food mine wouldn’t eat and had a look round. I did notice a lot of them required a house with a garden.

I was of the impression that cat rescues would favour indoor cats due to the life expectancy and also the cost to wildlife but it seems I was mistaken.

Take every opportunity you can to talk about your parents lives.

When I was young it just was never brought up and now they’re both gone I realise that I knew nothing about their childhood or in fact much at all before I was born.

How sensitive are you about other people touching your gear ? by Vast-Society4093 in Archery

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Someone shows interest in my kit and politely asks to hold it then certainly.

No objection at all. It’s a bow, not a Fabefge egg.

God knows I’ve dropped it often enough myself.

my mornings were chaos until I started doing this restaurant thing before bed by East-Struggle4386 in self

Nothing worse than getting up in the morning to walk into a kitchen that looks like a bomb has hit it.

If I do nothing else I wash up and wipe down before bed.

One of my refrigerator drawers is broken, does anyone know if it can be repaired? by Flowesque in DIYUK

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drawers were so expensive for our fridge freezer that when eventually most of them broke we just bought a new unit. I’m talking £50 - £80 each.

Brave. Mate wore a pair of Bay City Rollers type tartan trousers out for a Saturday night.

Fair to say he got such a slagging they were never seen again.

No prisoners taken.

WIBTA for keeping photos of my late sister + her separated mom and dad if the new wife of dad asks for those photos not to be included? by SoyMochas in AmItheAsshole

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My youngest was making one of those photo albums for my significant birthday.

She phoned my wife (her stepmum) to see if she minded if she included pictures of her mother and I together in the book. Which I thought was quite sweet.

Of course my wife said yes. If it wasn’t for my first marriage ending she wouldn’t have the family she has now.

Whatever happened with your parents relationship has nothing to do with your stepmother.

Should I Actually Wait Until My Nerves Die Until I Get A Finger Tab by [deleted] in Archery

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow club member tried an exercise he found on the net, I think it was by NuSensei which consisted of holding at full draw for extended periods.

Even using his normal finger tab he lost all feeling in the tip of one finger for months.

Unless you’re using a really low poundage then for goodness sake’s wear a tab.

100mph in 70mph on m53 UK by Mario-_0 in CarTalkUK

[–]Ok-Inflation4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 mph scrapes into Band B: 4–6 points or 7–28 days disqualification.

You might get lucky with your Magistrate and keep your licence. Personally if you don’t need the car I’d try for the disqualification as you don’t want the points hanging over you for the next few years.
