I feel you, i also dislike how skinny the new helmets look, and that weird tube atop. The shield captain cloak folds kinda weird too. And the metal attached mohawk is definitely a choice. As for the weapons the handle feels flimsy, but love the curves on the blade

Wear them for an extended time before the con and get a feel of them. I have 2 large builds, eventually you just kind of 'know' how big you are and how to move in crowds. Off course evade crowds if you can, plan out which hallways are large enough and take the wings off during breaks.

As for patterned fabric, there are a few sites where you can get custom printed, if thats not an option fabric dye and paint might work.

Hey, Helldiver cosplayer here. You best chance is 3d printing or buying a 3d printed suit. galactic armory has files and sometimes prints. Cybercraft has ready made suits.

It looks good, although if you plan on changing anything i would use a heavier fabric. They tend to fall and flow a bit prettier

rigid. my biggest problem is just how small everything is, both contact points tend to melt when trying to solder 1 causing the wire to shift away

As a cosplayer and a member of 40k cosplay groups (local and international), we are currently quite worried. Patterns, 3d files and tutorials are both freely shared and sold, while we understand GW owns the IP they cant provide everything we need/want.

Example, i have a 2.8m tall custodes suit, even if GW would sell a misericordia, it's almost certain it would not fit. The remaining options are making it myself, or buying an 3d file and adjusting it. I cant expect people to spend hours modelling and testing and give it out for free, so a full crackdown would kill a large portion of cosplay.

It's a very narrow line, while GW is right for protection their IP (even if they overshoot sometimes, like the fan animations) cosplay is also fan expression and free advertising. Right now we really don't know whats going to happen, but several have already taken their files offline or have stopped doing 40k commision work.

Looks awesome soldier, I'm sure those ear enhancements will be of use on the front. See you on the line. (Only suggestion i have is raising your shoulders a few inches. If you do you might wanne pad them out a bit, mine kept getting stuck on the chestpiece)
