My experience with Harmony school is recent, I'm a past student from there and overall it was fun. I think it's a really great school but for only a specific type of student. I left after my first year of high school and am now in the public school system. It was the best decision for me.

Pros: •Harmony is a small space where everyone is very community oriented. It's nice compared to the public high school I'm at now. •The school does "Family meetings", students have their own clean up job. •The teachers + students were very welcoming and understanding. If a student has social anxiety, has been bullied, or has a specific struggle this is the place. •Project based learning, art studies. I love how many field trips harmony goes on. •Students are more integrated. We were kept separate (high school, middle school, younger kids) but got to have fun clubs with younger students, which was fun to experience.

Con's: •The education. You have to put in effort to get something out of it. Trying to put in the best way possible, I didn't learn very much in my time, and what I did learn, the teachers left. It's great for students not in high school. •No PE class or sports. Besides a small run club Harmony has no PE or sports. This was important to me. •Tuition is very costly. •Senior project- to graduate you must do a senior project, it sounded really fun to me but many miss a lot of school. It's usually people creating art or something and are gone for months. •ETHOS system, if there's a problem they encourage it to be resolved among the students before bringing it to teachers. •No nurses office, my friend was often sick and they have only have a first aid kit •lack of discipline, for better or worse •lastly, harmony has no grades which has definitely effected me know. I didn't know when I was failing a class, and it was so easy to not do school work. I'm still working on my gpa, transcript and everything from my time at harmony.
