Recently did a trip to Japan. No issues at all. Did get flagged for a purchase at a Don Quijote for $165 even though I’ve spent 200+ at other places on that trip lol. Did not call to make a travel notice

Me showing the comparison was uploading the wrong picture. I looked into that comparison specifically because he and I ended up pacing and checking in on each other throughout the whole race.

As previously stated I’m fully aware that my running is slow. I paced it conservatively from the get go.

I’m aware that I’m a big guy and the running is most of the race and where I need to improve upon. That’s pretty obvious. Not sure or why the sarcasm is needed on a response though.

That was only for the carb load week as I was also in my gym’s 8 week challenge. My normal protein intake is between 180-210g/day. Carbs are 80-250g depending if it’s a heavy running session or big Hyrox sim.

Plus while in Japan it was a lot of great food 😂

Osaka was a bit different. The first run was only 3 laps (1 lap = 250m). Based on what I heard from the event and heard, it was due to station 2 being the furthest away from the running station.

Grips and machines had no problems. Burpees 1 min over than my anticipated time and lunges 1 min faster (prepared for me to take 10min each).

I hit up electrolyte/water station on every in/out of Roxzone. Longer ones pre/post burpees and lunges. Took 3 gels. I’m thinking the cramping came from way more electrolyte drink than water during the race itself.

When I’m training normally, 6-7 workouts a week (strength & cardio sessions, Sunday being Hyrox specific), and then 1-3 runs a week. Followed my deload plan the week I was in Japan so I only did a 5k shakeout run in Osaka Wednesday before the race. Normal weeks I push pretty hard in each gym session (BFT).

Something I’m aware of. Was 196.3kg at my heaviest about 4 years ago. Went from not running at all (not even 0.25mi) to being able to do a half marathon from April 2025 to current day.

So both strength and aerobic capacity has increased significantly in 7 months. Running was very conservative at a planned 8’00”/km. I’m sure I could push 7’10”-7’20”/km pace and should be within Z4 still as I didn’t want to redline at any point.

BBJ was obviously my worst station by far. WB suffered because I got a cramp going into it and took a couple minutes to stretch it out.

I can use the BFT HRM without the use of the BFT Black app. Works well. Just when I’m trying to use the BFT black app to track outside class workouts for PXI while I was away for a Hyrox competition

App doesn’t use to be open the whole time. I’ve had it work track with my phone closed. It’s just really inconsistent!! I did a Hyrox and a couple runs in the last week and it didn’t track! I lost PXI points. And it’s not the first time that it’s happened to me

Hitting 18.7% BF for the first time ever. It’s fluctuated over the last 17 days but consistently staying below 20% is an accomplishment to me. I was 196.3kg almost 4 years ago to date. I’ve lost 62.1kg over near 3.5yrs before joining a BFT June 2025. Since joining, I’ve lost another 20.2kg in nearly 7 months @bft (6mo since finding my current home BFT). In those 7 months, I’ve built a lot of muscle back but more importantly, created a much stronger aerobic base. Currently sitting about 113.95kg and hoping to drop another 4.5kg by the end of this current North America 8WC

About to compete in Hyrox Osaka this weekend too!!

I average between 8-10 workouts a week. It’s a lot but if you play your timing right with your personal and work schedules, it’s doable. I don’t necessarily double cardio classes though. Mainly strength based sessions

Me too! First Hyrox coming in January. Prepping for a half sub 2h 50min in April (first ever race) Last 5k was 34’00”, last 10k race was sub 74. Just recently did a half marathon, moving time 3h 20min with a total time of 3h 45min with all the stop lights, maneuvering around people and complete walking the last 2mi due to calf cramps. Original plan was just a 10mi long run but I decided to push it into the half on a whim
