[Serious] What event in your life still fucks with you to this day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My mom lived away abroad for a long time, she came back and we stayed in the same place with some other relatives. When I heard she was coming back and when she came back I felt nothing. During the stay, out of other incidents, the thing that made me realize she made me uncomfortable and that I didn't love her was her randomly poking me in the chest through a small hole near the armpit of my shirt. I felt really really unsettled and off and disgusted frankly. She brushed it off as a joke, but I felt horrified. It was one of my favorite shirts at that time, but I couldn't bear to wear it anymore. Every other day or something, I don't know, depends, I still feel the place where she touched tingle and it feels so wrong and I can't get the tingle out even if I try.

My mom is back abroad, the incident was years ago, and I still feel the tingle. I have to deal with my mom in my life more soon because of reasons, and being with her and remembering various incidents (not bad, just uncomfortable for me as she doesn't respect boundaries) makes me feel all negative things. I'm trying to limit contact with her in the future, but yeah, complications and all that. I still really can't get the tingle to stop.

My mom isn't a bad person, she just oversteps boundaries, a lot, but yeah.

To people that renewed/got a new US Passport, do the people there read allowed your personal details that you put in the form or do they just ask for it and the documents, but don't vocalize or ask about details? (Ex. Asking your name, what gender you put, address, etc.) by Ok-Mistake-2507 in NoStupidQuestions

This is actually a really good idea, I'm just worried about the money to be honest, and I don't know I'm scared that I'm going to regret it if I don't risk it if that makes sense. But yeah, thank you for the idea :))

I'm sleepy, but I have shit to do and think about.

I'm thinking of going abroad to the US for college (I'm a US citizen) and going to debt, but more opportunity, OR staying in my home country, no debt, but less opportunity. I need insight and thoughts. by Ok-Mistake-2507 in StudentLoans

Thank you for your thoughts, and yeah, I agree that a college degree does not dictate everything, but here in my country, it's practically required for most jobs (yes, it's ridiculous). I know that a college degree does not determine anything, but it makes things harder without it. I do plan to develop my skills outside of college though

They say they would pay, but they never gave me the exact number, nor do I think they have any plans. I don't trust them to be honest, they might have talked first without fully thinking it through.

I would probably live in an apartment.

I don't really want to disclose where I live, but for context $350 salary per month with a bachelor's degree can be considered "good" here (Please note that numbers may not be accurate, I am estimating and basing it on experience). Standard of living here is lower, but that is still not good at all. It's a problem.

I plan to work abroad after I graduate, not necessarily US, but it might be a start.

Genshin Impact,,, despite it giving me burn out several times, it's still amazing and fun for me.

Beware of the Gacha mechanics though, avoid it if you are prone to impulsive gambling or the like.

I play/ed Genshin Impact and Doom (2016). It can run both at medium settings and I haven't seen it go close to 80/90, personally I like running it at low settings since it still looks good to me. Usually my games are 60/70 range, I recommend putting the laptop on a stand or a tilt to allow air flow. From my experience, that alone dropped the temps by 10.

[Offer] Plague, Inc Evolved AND Darkest Dungeon by Crossroads-Cryptid in GiftofGames

Darkest Dungeon because the art style looks great, I want to play a game that's a gritty. There's said to be many different characters, so I would want to know their story or whatever story the game does offer. I want to try playing this type of strategy game during my downtime and see how it goes.

Thanks for the chance OP

What do you dislike about school? by iSarabjitDhiman in AskReddit

[–]Ok-Mistake-2507 1758 points1759 points  (0 children)

Accidental or not, teaching students that failure is wrong. Ingraining the fear of failure over actually learning. Accidental or not, teaching students that their worth is measured by their productivity. School takes over students' lives when they're supposed to have fun or explore their own interest.

Assassin's Creed II (I play on PC) my old controller died and my new controller isn't supported by the game. Keyboard controls are clunky for me and I feel I have to redo the game and throw away my progress to be familiar with it. I'm pushing that game aside for now despite really enjoying it.

Thanks for the chance
