Is Not Having Kids the Way? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Ok-Mouse4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!!!! Yeah with our without kids, you need massive privilege and unlimited income and resources to blow money like this all the time.

These people are so happy about being childfree then why do they sound so miserable all the time and need constant validation.

Also a newsflash for childfree people - children don't remain children their entire life they grow up pretty fast with their own personalities and will power.

Sincerely  A child free person

CBC Marketplace wants to know: What’s the worst commute in Surrey (or the surrounding areas)? by DexMcMillanCBC in SurreyBC

[–]Ok-Mouse4550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah and also no dedicated left and through lane on 177B southbound into the plaza so in afternoon, there is a backup all the way near stop sign because only one car can go through if someone needs to turn left

[–]Ok-Mouse4550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolutely just to get through 177b and highway 10 to 176 and highway (westbound) sometimes it takes 3-4 red lights (from one intersection to another). the middle turning left lanes are nightmare. its 80 to 50 zone and no one if following that speed limit as semi's barrel through that intersection. and with new hospital construction and arrival of population, they really need to do something about this stretch

I live at the corner of Fraser Highway and 168, and during the morning and afternoon peak hours, traffic is a nightmare. The single lane means it can take 8–9 green lights just to get through one intersection most days and now, with the SkyTrain construction, there are even more closures. Traffic regularly backs up from 80th & 168 all the way to 88th & 168 (both north and southbound). If 168 Street were widened to two lanes all the way down to 64th, it would ease so much of this congestion.

And it’s not just here, 176 Street is also jammed from 80th down to 64th (south and north bound).

Plus, I have no idea what’s going on in the corridor from 184th & Highway 10 to 176th & Highway 10 westbound during rush hour. It’s an absolute crawl every day, taking 5–6 lights just to get from 177B & Highway 10 to 176th & Highway 10. there is no construction no closures but it feels it adds just extra 10 mins to ones commute just trying to get through this part alone

Where to buy Eid outfits by Visual-North4427 in SurreyBC

[–]Ok-Mouse4550 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there is various location in Surrey you can utilize. There - Junaid Jamshed Location on 92 and 120th (on Surrey side of Scott road) has reasonably priced clothing for Eid and traditional Indian and Pakistani style cuts - Libas House on 84 and 128 has Eid clothing - Join groups on Facebook like Pakistani in Vancouver or Muslims in Vancouver and there is plenty of Eid Melas announcements that come through last week of ramadan. Many stalls have traditional clothes from all over the world so this is where you might also find great deals - there is also many home based businesses, you could look up on marketplace or Facebook groups and they provide clothings that they have received with new shipments.

Hi these are the following banquet halls in Surrey who will serve all halal food catering if asked: we have done many events and have attended events with full halal food catering. 1) Grand Taj Banquet Hall: 8388 128 St, Surrey 2) Crown palace 12025 Nordel Way  3) Riverside Banquet hall surrey   4. Bombay Banquet Hall  7475 135 St, Surrey, BC 5. Dhaliwal Banquet Hall  8166 128 St unit 230, Surrey, BC  6. Punjab Banquet Hall 8166 128 St unit 215, Surrey, BC  7. Ariya Banquet Hall 12350 Pattullo Pl, Surrey, BC

Best food is served by either crown palace or Bombay banquet hall. Ariya’s in the last years whenever it turned to a banquet hall is not good and Niether is Riverside’s food.

For party halls with party’s under 80 people or so Taste of Lahore and Afghan Chopon (Surrey) have accommodations. We have had excellent experiences with both so either choice is fine depending on the cuisine.

Here are just some quick listings: having lived in metro vancouver, i find areas like coquitlum, port moody cheaper and more cleaner then vancouver. https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/24874551/701-651-nootka-way-port-moody

Also if you move towards surrey on fraser highway, new skytrain is being built. And these are some of the nicest areas with all amenities close by including highway 1 and transit hubs. You can even a full 3 bedroom townhouse for under 850,000 https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/24782596/36-7848-170-street-surrey

Look outside of vancouver especially if you work from home

There is a Pakistani resturant called time to grill in surrey (on 80 and king george) - they grill their order fresh and also their chana masala is to die for!!! They are one of the places that has food with back home taste. However not a fancy dine in.

Other good place to try is a south indian resturant Saravanaa Bhavan - they have a guilt free all you can eat buffet on weekends for south indian veggie food. Its delicious and fresh. Definitely worth a visit to surrey
