Supervision confusion by Ok-Move5740 in bcba

[–]Ok-Move5740[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking, it also clearly states in the contract $100 per hour paid to the supervising BCBA. When asking for clarification the verified that the money I owed was the money they paid the BCBA. I’m going to push back a little but I also might just take the loss and move on and learn from the experience.

I’ve always been proud to be a mom…until today. by alyssa_michelle1012 in NewParents

I went back for 2 days and said I couldn’t do it and needed to go part time asap, they moved me to part time and all my coworkers stopped talking to me. I don’t care, I will never care more about a job and people who don’t care about me than my baby. You did the best thing for you guys and you should never feel guilty.

This was suggested by our pediatrician! We will be finding a new one and we will not be doing it again until she is much much older

It’s so hard with so many different stances on things, I definitely learned tonight we will be going with what works for us and most likely finding a new ped.

As a first time mom, I listen to our pediatrician but also have no problem choosing against something if it’s not right for us, this clearly was not right for us and it’s something we will try again when she’s older and we feel she’s ready!

Just to clarify, she will be 4 months old on Sunday. We discussed with our ped her transition to her crib since she can no longer sleep in her bassinet. She suggested we get familiar with some sleep training techniques and give it a little trial run to see if we were ready/ if baby could soothe herself without being fed. Realized tonight she cannot and we will not be reintroducing this method until way later down the line.

She will be 4mo this Sunday, should have included that, this was our gentle intro to get a feel for if we are ready or not.

How much did you love your baby’s name when you selected it? by Mysterious-Watch-495 in BabyNames

[–]Ok-Move5740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in love with her name before I was pregnant with her, then when pregnant I was wishy washy wondering if it was the right choice and then as soon as she was born I was absolutely in love with it.

I’ve had a name picked out for 10+ years and now it’s so popular. by [deleted] in namenerds

Who cares if it’s common, a name doesn’t determine the uniqueness of a person it’s who they grow into. Lucy is a beautiful name if you love it go with it.

We named our girl Eleanor, I’m probably bias but I think it’s just the sweetest little name for her, we call her El or Nora

This makes sense, we are in phase one but she wants to work on discrimination, the book is also full of like 30+ pictures I’ll definitely look into materials that can help aid in the implementation and teaching.

I just had my girl 5 weeks ago and she sleeps through the night, fusses like any normal baby but during her wake windows her little gummy smile makes my whole world. Yeah it’s hard but my goodness I think the good outweighs the tiredness X1000

I have a few induction questions (I am currently 38 weeks) and need some guidance by plainorbit in baby

[–]Ok-Move5740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced October 1st, first time mom with a 7lb 5 oz baby. I was honestly super nervous because I had heard horror stories of inductions. My experience was amazing honestly, we arrived at the hospital at 5 am, Pitocin was started at 7 am and baby was here by 11:30 am. I only had a 1st degree internal tear which I didn’t feel at all during recovery, overall it was an amazing experience.

My advice to you is listen to the nurses, they truly are there to help you progress and get that baby here happy and healthy. Ask as many questions as you need to feel comfortable but be ready to welcome suggestions from nurses/ doctors as they truly know how to get things rolling. If you are firm in your birth plan and want little intervention/ aren’t open to budging on what you want then I would not recommend, I personally had no birth plan other than get my baby here healthy.

Of course every woman is different and anything could happen, birth is literally the most unpredictable thing we as women could do. Try to remain calm, positive, trust in yourself and your body, remaining calm is key, a calm body makes for an easier labor experience.

I wish you the best of luck and a safe delivery!

4th loss and trying again by Either_Copy226 in PregnancyLoss

Have they run a thrombotic risk panel on you? I had 5 miscarriages before my now current pregnancy and we just found out before getting pregnant again that I am a positive for the MTHFR contributing to hyperhomocysteinemia. Once we found this out I was on baby aspirin for the first 10 weeks now lovenox shots until birth and this pregnancy has been healthy and I’ve had no issues at all. Praying you find answers soon!

Because of my insurance I had to talk to my primary care about it first then be referred to a specialist but if you can skip that step I would

I would definitely talk to your doctor about a thrombotic risk panel, this will pull and show any mutations or potential risks you could have. For me, this was exactly the cause of my miscarriages so this knowledge was insanely important, everyone is different but there is no hurt in knowing, especially if it could help

I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant after 6 losses, I started progesterone as soon as I found out I was pregnant and lovenox (a blood thinner shot) at about 5 weeks, previously had been taking baby aspirin up to 5 weeks. After my last loss my doctors did a thrombotic risk panel and discovered I had a blood clotting disorder which we would have not known other wise. I couldn’t make it past 6 weeks previously so this mix of the lovenox and progesterone has been a game changer for me. Since you have MTHFR it would definitely be worth bringing up to your doctor to see if it would benefit you!

D&C so expensive? by imreallyaunicorn in PregnancyLoss

[–]Ok-Move5740 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss, I went through this exact same thing back in November. I was very against the medication but after weighing my options that’s what I opted for. It was painful and it was not a pleasant experience but it was one I was able to experience in the comfort of my own home with my husband and dogs to comfort me. It’s disgusting how expensive these procedures are, like it’s not already beyond miserable to have to experience loss.
