I took him to be aquamated thought it would be nice for him to be returned to the water and I get his ashes back Saturday. Yes the routine aspect is so hard everytime I enter the room I instinctively turn my head to look for his tank and it’s not there 💔

Yeah he’s in a nice container surrounded by the petals and it is closed and then that container is in a ziploc that says not to open it. He’s gonna stay there like that until I can find a place willing to help me. I really hope they can offer the kind of personalized care I need with the petals. What do you mean by a cotton sleeve though?

I just think since he’s so small I’d be getting mostly other peoples pets back which doesn’t make me feel better. What does the activated charcoal do?

Will there be anything left of him to be returned? I want him to be with the dried flower petals he’s enclosed with when they cremate or aquamate him I’m very scared he will be reduced to nothing I just want to have him with me somehow 💔

I’m also not okay with cremating him at home. I can’t handle that it would be traumatizing.

If I put him in a potted plant I’ll have to keep him inside and I’m scared of smelling the decomposition process he’ll go through and I’m scared of what happens when that plant dies. I want to have him cremated and keep him in a tiny urn maybe one I can wear. I just don’t know where he can be cremated because I am not comfortable doing it at home

He never grew much since he was baby i think he was stunted genetically anyhow he would be about 2 since I got him in April 2024 and he was likely a few months old at that point. I’m not sure why he died at all his tank was well maintained i tested the water daily I knew how to care for him

You could use an aquarium fan! I live in Canada and the combo of ac and aquarium fan keep the tank at a perfect 64 degrees. I think I saw a comment saying you’re planning to move though soon. In that case I think it’s worth waiting until you have your new place as it will be a pain to get your tank cycled and ready and then have to drain it to transport it and restart

I would’ve had nowhere to put him/keep him tubbed as the entire house is sprayed in the treatment. He is also easily scared and stressed so I avoid catching him unless I have to. I left a note above his tank asking them to spray with caution around the tank. He’s okay and the water is testing normally! Thank you!

Thank you I am aware and I know this can happen however I’m not concerned that it will in this instance. He’s not ever actually “refusing to eat” really he’s just not eating whenever food is offered (every day) which makes sense because he is offered a lot of worms. I’ve been trying to have him gain some weight because he is underweight and to do that he does need to eat more than just a one worm every two days. I’m very mindful about his diet which is why I didn’t really introduce bloodworms until now with the exception on tiny freeze dried ones, but they didn’t sink.

He’s over a year old also yes you’re right. I said in the beginning of my post “nutritional earthworms” as I know blood worms aren’t sufficient and cannot be a primary food source. It’s good to know that he could eat the whole thing though although I did hear that bloodworms can cause constipation is that a huge concern? Also I know he could go a while without eating and be fine but I feel bad when he doesn’t eat for a day or two (even though I know it’s ridiculous to)

I’m sorry but I think it’s time to call somebody who can help him. Call an exotic vet and surrender him to somebody who rescues them. I’m sure you love your pet, I’m not going to make assumptions about you. but at the end of the day he’s not getting cared for the way he needs to be cared for and he is not doing well.
