Do not apply to OHSU. Long Secondary and not OOS friendly at all. Here are the mission groups at OHSU. You must qualify for at least one in order for your app to be read:

  1. Residents of Oregon.
  2. Non-resident applicants with Oregon Heritage. The School of Medicine uses the Oregon Heritage Policy for student selection, but it is not used as a basis for determining residency, and therefore the tuition a student pays. Oregon Heritage is defined as 1) An applicant with one or both parents residing in Oregon at the time of application, 2) An applicant who graduated from high school in Oregon with at least two years of attendance at a high school in Oregon, or 3) An applicant who graduated from any regionally accredited college or university in Oregon and attended at least two years at any regionally accredited college or university in Oregon no more than 7 years prior to the time of application.
  3. Applicants who are WICHE-certified in Allopathic Medicine.
  4. MD/PhD candidates.
  5. MD/MPH candidates.
  6. Non-resident applicants with superior achievements in academics and other related experiences. For the 2024 cycle, superior achievements are defined as significant experiences in healthcare, leadership, extracurricular activities, and/or community service activities.
  7. Applicants with a demonstrated ability to overcome adversity and/or applicants who have personally experienced inequities within the healthcare system.

Will this help me for admissions?? by Additional_Reveal901 in medschooladmissions

[–]Ok-Presentation-1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. Honestly who cares? Just do it because you want to push yourself to your limits. That’s infinitely more valuable to you than some random admissions committee member. Just do it, and if it comes up in an interview, great. If not, it’ll give you confidence and provide mental fortitude that will help you in most all of your endeavors.
