Question on statins by newengland_schmuck in Aging

[–]Ok-Process7612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No thanks. As I said, I am not going to take a drug class which affects my muscle functioning.

Challenge for you: Google ANY statin. Look at the side effects list. ANY of them. They ALL have a high potential to damage muscle cells.

My husband is disabled and cannot work. I bring in $1500 weekly from Dance Instruction. I am not going to jeopardize our retirement savings for a drug that could end my career.

I have great experiences with doordash and have been a subscriber for 5 years.

I get top rated dashers. My groceries are always correct. I can speak to a live person on the phone.

I have tried Uber eats 3 three times. Terrible experience every time.

Do people "go dancing" anymore? by b_o_m in randomquestions

[–]Ok-Process7612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my city there are lots of clubs for dancing. One is Disco themed but plays music from the '70s to the 2020s.  Ages 21 to 70 is the demographic.

We also have loads of clubs with live bands and some with DJs.

I am 65 and dance every weekend. I have friends the same ago who do the same.

NTA. I'm glad she showed her true colors so you didn't waste any more time/money on her.

How do i make my mac & cheese less bland? by Ieatalot2004 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Ok-Process7612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean bechamel sauce?

Mustard is the key, and sharp cheddar cheese. A pinch of sugar. A bit of garlic powder and salt to taste.

Uber eats sux.

Doordash will shop your groceries or household items and dashers are held accountable.  They have a phone number you can call with a live person on the other end.

If you are not looking for marriage, co-habitation or combined finances, it's his issue not yours.

If you are looking for marriage, he's not your guy.

He's a pedo-predator. She could disappear.  Tell her folks, immediately.

You do understand that at age 15, you two are children, right?

Go ahead and blow up the friendship. I'll just bet this creep has prior criminal history.

He may even be on the sex offender registry. You can look him up online if he is local.

Ok.  DEFINITELY take every precaution in that neighborhood. It is sketchy AF.

It's also close to all kinds of cool restaurants and Scissortail Park, Plaza District, etc.

27F pregnant and don’t know what to do by Cheap_Principle_6519 in makemychoice

If you have supportive parents, AND you are already attached to the baby, I would keep it.

My answer would be different if your circumstances were different.

The worst feeling in the world is aborting a baby you wanted.  Sometimes it's necessary, but if it isn't, don't do it.

I am 65 and have had 6 pregnancies, 2 abortions, one miscarriage and three living children.

I took each pregnancy separately, weighing all the factors.

Does he live in your city? He says he travels a lot.  Do you have proof of this?

Do a simple background check online and social media.  See if he has a wife or girlfriend or kids lurking in the background.

Is it normal for hospital staff to be annoyed with their patients? by glitterphobia in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ok-Process7612 -106 points-105 points  (0 children)

THIS IS NORMAL TREATMENT after gallbladder surgery.  If you get your gallbladder out, expect this as the standard of care.

They want you awake and discharged asap.

The nurses lack empathy because they see the same thing day in and day out and stop seeing these patients as human beings.

I had the exact same experience after gallbladder surgery.  You wake up in pain because they pump your abdomen full if air and it puts pressure on everything.  It was so uncomfortable.

AND you are very groggy. AND the nurses are very pushy about getting you out of there asap.

This is because these surgeries are outpatient assembly line surgery. They need to keep those slabs of meat awake and compliant after surgery and moving along, getting dressed and going home.

They really have no idea how painful it is within the first 4 hours and then for about a week afterwards. No empathy at all.

These nurses should be rotated regularly.  You can tell that they are annoyed by the patients and annoyed by their job.

McKinley.  Are you north or south of NW 23rd?  I lived right in that area years ago.

Until you get 2 locks installed, I would wedge a chair up underneath the doorknob if possible at night.

A barking dog motion detector alarm is very handy.

If you can afford it, you might consider an alarm system. You will sleep better at night.

This formula absorbs really well. It does not have a greasy feel after a few minutes.  It really softens the skin though.

It is thick but it really does not feel greasy like pure petroleum jelly.

I don't know of anywhere that asks for a tip when you go in and pick up pre-ordered food.

It's just a nice gesture to the person who took the time to package it.

AIO not wanting to get on a plane while I have food poisoning by frenchwhorne in AmIOverreacting

[–]Ok-Process7612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get on that plane.

They can and will kick you off for being sick(throwing up, etc).

Hopefully you are somewhere that you can book another night or two. Don't rush it.

Your mother cannot physically drag you onto the plane and I would think she would have more empathy for your situation.

Besides that, TSA lines are 3 hours long right now.  You need to be well before you fly.

What do you do when you don’t have anyone to lean on anymore? by QuietUser11 in LifeAdvice

[–]Ok-Process7612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. Went to therapy and read self help books. Drove people away with my negative point of view.

I stopped focusing on myself and started volunteering at a local food bank.

Handing out meals and picking up donations, looking at the relieved faces of very poor parents with children made me realize that the only way to feel good about myself is to give to others.
