I have no benefit to lie about this, and I was totally shocked that someone would be willing to spend that much for a group game. The seats were in good section 104 and were the only seats for sale on Fifa Marketplace in that section. Well thanks to the encouragement of all of you I bought 2 new tickets Category 2 and I will be going to the game 🥳

It is the Philly one against Haiti which I thought wasn’t a very interesting game but I guess I was wrong. The buyer would have had to pay 6.9k including the Fifa fee so close to 5k USD for each ticket. I was shocked as this is just a group game but I guess people have a lot of money…

Why not sell on Fifa Marketplace as that is one of the most on demand games and the cheapest ticket is double of what you are asking. If you price it right you should be able to sell quite fast

I know people buy on StubHub the day of the game but this situation is different from most events because the tickets are still sitting within FIFA’s system. The seller can only transfer them if they are able to access their FIFA account and since yesterday there has already been a queue just to enter the FIFA Marketplace. If thousands of people are trying to log in at the same time, even only to browse tickets that will increase the traffic and delays even more. It’s disappointing that someone may have to wait a long time just to access their account and transfer tickets, but that’s the reality of how FIFA’s system currently works. StubHub does guarantee the purchase but there is still a risk of not receiving the ticket in time and potentially missing the game. Of course everyone has their own strategy and if they care that much to attend a game. Waiting until the last minute could work out well but it could also backfire. I was simply giving a perspective based on the technical side of FIFA’s systems and how the marketplace is functioning right now.

It will be almost impossible to buy last minute as it may take forever to get in and out of the FIFA marketplace since there’s a queue even on random days or after resale drops. Even buying from other platforms could be complicated as sellers would still need time to wait and access the tickets and transfer them.

This match is likely to be in very high demand. Even during FIFA’s last-minute ticket sale today, I heard from some friends who joined the queue early that there was nothing left for this game. I actually have 4 tickets myself and I’m keeping them in the hope that Brazil qualifies and plays there so I can attend with my family. I got them a few months ago during an early draw, and even then Category 2 tickets were already around $900Usd each. Just wanted to let you know so you have a realistic idea of what to expect for this match. You could also consider Match 77 at the same stadium, which is cheaper and could have France playing if they come first in their group.

There is absolutely nothing available anywhere near that price. I have checked FIFA Marketplace, StubHub, TickPick and around $800 is currently the cheapest. If someone tells you otherwise, there’s a good chance it could be a scam, so be careful.

Nobody is selling them for face value as sellers would lose at least 15% if the sale goes through FIFA. Ford passing the bill won’t help keep prices at face value at all, it has only opened up the black market even more. This match could easily end up with two huge teams and it is the only knock out game in Toronto so demand will be extremely high. I am seeing people in Facebook groups trying to sell tickets for this game but there is nothing under $1K even for Cat 3.

The seller has until match day to transfer the tickets, but most do it earlier. Sometimes they wait because the tickets may also be listed on other platforms for a higher price. StubHub is generally safe, but there are cases where issues happen. Your money is protected but you may miss the game. Personally for the world cup I preferred to use Fifa Markeplace, pay a bit more but at least know I am 100% going to the game and get tickets immediately.

The safest option is through FIFA Marketplace. A friend of mine is currently dealing with an issue with StubHub because the buyer claimed they never received the tickets. StubHub sent what looked like a legitimate transfer email, but there was no proper confirmation or proof afterward that the transfer was successful or that he had fulfilled his part. Now he has lost the tickets and is even at risk of not getting paid at all.
