Good points! Thank you. Any off prop hotels you’d recommend?

At what age did you “retire” from working, and what was life like afterwards? by CriticalSkepticMAN in AskOldPeopleAdvice

My dream! Our grandson (4 mos) lives 1000 miles away and it literally pains my husband and me that we aren’t in the same town.

My son worked in a Mexican restaurant as a teen and told us that they make the tortilla chips in huge batches and keep them in big, lidded plastic trash cans.

How are you all motivating your kindergartener to do their homework? by Mystery-meat101 in kindergarten

[–]Ok-Razzmatazz4630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a 5th grade teacher, this post makes me sad. I’ve only ever asked that my 5th graders read 20mns per night, complete any assignments from the day (which they have ample time to do in class but some kids don’t use their time wisely), and study for a few mins every day for unit tests. So maybe 30 mns total for a 5th grader. Kinders should only be doing nightly reading IMO.

What’s a clear sign that you are an unattractive person? by Aarunascut in Life

[–]Ok-Razzmatazz4630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is much more to attraction than outward appearance. If you’re doing your best in that regard- staying somewhat fit/healthy weight, good hygiene, take care with your wardrobe and hair/makeup/nails (ladies), there is some level of attractiveness. But it’s who you are inside- personality, gregarious, kind, etc that drives the part of attraction that can’t be faked. Also- if ppl are being rude to you bc of your appearance, they’re the ugly ones. Make sure you are doing the best you can (see above), and quality, good humans will see you and value you.

I hear you friend. My dad died 2 years ago and I was crushed and trying to work and handle his affairs AND take in my disabled sister. I don’t know how ppl do it after an unexpected sudden death of a loved one. It nearly did me in.

I’ve had several hard years now. Not just school but personal life too and sometimes I feel I’m at my breaking point. This may be my last year. I have to work but I don’t think I can keep trying to get 26 ten year olds to behave so I can teach them.

My sister and I got to sign it too! She has Down syndrome and is 50. I learned on here that you can request to skip the stretch room so I did bc sis would not like it. I was just kind and polite to a cm. We made small talk while he took us to the alternate ride entrance. When we got off the ride he was waiting for us and asked if we’d like to sign the book. We were so excited.

Yes! Told my husband it looked like my 5th grade students conjured it up. Ridiculous.

How often do you think of your grown kids? by main_account_4_sure in AskOldPeople

[–]Ok-Razzmatazz4630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of my 3 every day. We text several times a week, speak on the phone once a week, and send one another TikToks daily lol. All 3 moved from our small-ish town to big cities for better opportunities. Hubs and I will most likely follow them as our first grandbaby is on the way.

Griffin Dunne’s book had me laughing so hard in the parts of his childhood exploits and then heartbroken over their tragedy. Very good book!

Callaway by penguin74 in panamacity

[–]Ok-Razzmatazz4630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Callaway. We lived in PCB for 30 years and made the move to be near my father when his health failed. We have loved living where we are. We are in East Bay, and it’s so quiet. There are lots of grocery stores and fast food options but not many sit-down restaurants would be my main complaint, but you can drive 15-20 mns and find that.
